14. Adjusting the operating pressure of the pressure
reducer
The operating pressure of the Exclusive pressure reducer is factory-set to
approx. 1 bar. In the first weeks of operation in particular, the operating
pressure may alter slightly as a result of the washers working loose.
Adjusting the operating pressure:
• Remove protective cap.
22
• To increase the pressure: Use a
suitable screwdriver to turn the
operating pressure setting screw
towards " + "
To reduce the pressure: Turn
operating pressure setting screw
towards " - ".
22
15. Replacing the washer in the pressure reducer
The self-locking, maintenance-free Longlife washer in the connection
socket of the pressure reducer will normally function effectively over
many years. Should you be unable to produce a connection which does
not leak despite screwing on the pressure reducer several times (without
canting!), the washer is presumably worn out and should be replaced.
• For this purpose, insert a small screwdriver
23
or similar behind the washer from the side
and carefully lever the washer out.
Be careful not to damage the connecting
thread, the pressure pin or the sealing sur-
face!Be sure to verify that no foreign mat-
ter (dust, dirt particles, metal chips, etc.)
enters into the opening of the pressure
reducer!
• Blow air through the connection socket in order to clean it.
• Carefully press the new washer into position using a suitable, non-
metallic object. Be careful not to damage the washer and the connec-
tion socket. Check that the washer is fitted correctly in place.
16. Examining the special CO
check valve
2
The check valve protects your valuable pressure reducer from corrosion
caused by back-flowing water. It will operate reliably over a very long
period. However, as dirt, paint and metal particles may collect on the sea-
ling surfaces over the course of time, the check valve should be exami-
ned every 2 years at the latest and replaced if necessary.
Examination procedure:
• Close needle valve on CO
pressure reducer.
2
• After 24 hours, unscrew the coupling ring on the side of the check
valve facing the pressure reducer.
• Pull off CO
hose and check whether any water has entered into the
2
hose. If so: Replace check valve. If not: Reconnect hose to check valve.
• Reset number of bubbles.
Don't worry: An effectively functioning aquarium will normally have no
problem coping without a CO
supply for 24 hours
2
Important note: Use only check valves designed for use with CO
as the special CO
check valve from DENNERLE. Standard air
2
check valves may become brittle through contact with CO
within only a
2
short space of time, resulting in leaks. This usually goes unnoticed.
18
17. Replacing the special CO
indicator
2
Like most colouring agents, the indicator is subject to ageing as a result
of photochemical processes. In order to guarantee the quickest and most
exact colour response at all times, we thus recommend filling the test
container with fresh special CO
indicator every 4 weeks. For this purpo-
2
se, open the test container and pour the old indicator down the drain.
Rinse test container with tap water and dry with a kitchen cloth or simi-
lar before refilling.
18. Cleaning the CO
long-term test
2
Use warm water and a soft sponge. Do not use any cleaning agents!
The test container can be dismantled for cleaning. If necessary, grease
the two O-rings slightly (!) with Vaseline (from a pharmacy, drugstore)
before re-assembling the test container.
IMPORTANT: Do not use any other lubricants, as these may lead to incor-
rect colour indications.

hand, so that the suction cups point
towards the right. The open side (which
holds the collector) points upwards.
• Slide front side wall of the Maxi-Flipper
upward by approx. 2 cm.
26
• Remove the side wall.
• Remove the CO
out.
Now clean all components of the CO
Maxi-Flipper with warm water and a soft
sponge. Do not use any detergents.
27
• Reassemble the Maxi-Flipper in reverse
order. Attention: reinsert the CO
into the side wall so that the lower end
is at the very bottom of the reactor.
