HEADSET ADJUSTMENT
Caution: The headset is factory assembled and pre-adjusted for correct operation on
first use with no prior disassembly required.
However the use of LOOK equipment allows each user to harden or soften their headset,
with a very fine adjustment of bearing compression by tightening/loosening the height
adjuster as shown on the below figures:
First engage manually the height
adjuster on the threaded insert until
the latter comes into contact with
the compression cone of the upper
bearing. For stronger tightening, use
LOOK recommended tools.
The height adjuster can be tightened
or loosened using the following tools:
(external BB toolset)
-
Shimano ref.: TL-FC32
-
Var tools ref.: LP-60200
Adjust carefully the headset so that
no play remains and that the fork can
turn freely and without hard point.
Warning: Do not tighten the height
adjuster until steering is locked, as
this may result in early and abnormal
wear of bearings and overall headset
jamming.
