4.3 Master / slave mode
Multiple ODB-1212RGBW can be operated
in sync; in this mode, one unit (master unit)
will control the other units (slave units).
1) Connect the units in a chain, as de -
scribed in chapter 3.2.2.

4.4 Operation with a DMX controller
For operation by means of a DMX light con-
troller (e. g. DMX-1440 or DMX-510USB
from "img Stage Line"), the LED light effect
bar is equipped with 59 DMX control chan-
nels. However, it can also be controlled by
11, 8, 5, 4 or 3 channels if the functions pro-
vided by these channels suffice (see chap-
ter 5.1) or if less than 59 channels are avail-
able at the light controller.
DMX stands for Digital Multiplex and
means digital control of multiple DMX units
via a common control line.

4.4.1 Setting the number of DMX channels
and the start address
For separate control of all DMX units con-
nected to the light controller, each unit
requires a start address of its own. Exam-
ple: If the first DMX channel of the ODB-
1212RGBW is to be controlled by the light
controller via DMX address 6, set the start

4.4.2 Using subaddresses
In the 11-channel mode and in the 59-
channel mode, subaddresses may be used
to independently control up to 66 ODB-
1212RGBW one after the other via a single
DMX start address. Thus, the maximum
number of DMX units possible is substan-
tially increased. The last DMX channel (11
or 59) is used to select units with a subad-
dress. Units having the same start address
and different subaddresses may be con-
trolled in sync if DMX channel 11 or 59 is
set to a DMX value less than 10.
