STARTING AND STOPPING THE ENGINE

PRIMING OF THE FUEL SYSTEM
For engines equipped with a fuel primer, it may be necessary to "prime" the fuel system before attempting to start
the engine. This means removing air from the circuit and allowing the carburetor to be properly filled with fuel. For
priming:
1. Fill the fuel tank with fuel.
2. Locate the fuel primer (Fig.8 Point 1).
3. Press the fuel choke several times until you feel that there is fuel in the choke.
4. Start the engine.
ATTENTION: If the carburetor is overfilled, the excess fuel will spill out through the carburetor seal
(through the carburetor duct) and the engine will not start by flooding or drowning. If you find
yourself in this situation, remove the spark plug, and * pull the manual starter to remove excess fuel
from the cylinder and reassemble the spark plug.
LOCKING/UNLOCKING LEVER
The locking/unlocking lever also known as the "safety lever" must be activated for the engine to start and operate.
When the bar is released, the motor stops automatically, this is a safety feature to help ensure that the machine
operator is behind it while the motor is running.
STARTING THE ENGINE
1.
Press the fuel priming button several times in succession.
2.
Pull the locking/unlocking lever towards the upper handlebar and hold it against it.
3.
Pull the starter rope as necessary.
ATTENTION: The mower motor will
start working as soon as the starter
rope is pulled. Note that the machine
does not operate if the motor lock/
unlock lever is not attached to the
upper handle. This is a safety feature
of the mower.
