Changing the Chuck
may unexpectedly fall if the chuck is not
fully engaged.
This tool comes with a replaceable
chuck. This allows for fast, easy
replacement of the SDS-plus chuck. It
also allows the use of a 3-jaw chuck
(sold separately), which converts the
tool for use with a variety of straight
shank bits for drilling and driving.
REMOVING THE SDS-PLUS® CHUCK
Grasp the locking ring 3 of the SDS-plus
quick change chuck and pull forcefully
in direction of arrow A while pulling
chuck 2 in direction of arrow B and
remove from tool (Fig. 6).
ATTACHING THE 3-JAW CHUCK
(Not included, available as accessory)
tool must be used in DRILLING mode
only. Using the tool in HAMMERING
mode can cause damage to the 3-jaw
chuck and may cause bits to become
loose and cause damage or injury.
Grasp the 3-jaw chuck 18 firmly with
your hand and push it onto the tool with
a twisting motion until you hear it lock
into place (Fig. 7).
Pull outward on the chuck to be certain
it is locked into the tool.
INSTALLING AND REMOVING
ACCESSORIES WHEN USING 3-JAW
CHUCK

and rotate chuck sleeve 18a in direction
of arrow C with the other hand until the
jaws are open (Fig. 9).
For small bits, open jaws enough to
insert the bit up to the flutes. For large
bits, insert the bit as far as it will go.
Insert bit, hold the chuck collar with one
hand and rotate chuck sleeve in
direction of arrow A with the other hand
until it latches. Then clamp the
accessory by continuing to turn the
chuck sleeve forcefully in direction of
arrow A until you hear a ratcheting
sound (Fig. 8).
