3 Setting Up

3.2 Mounting repeaters

The fiber-optic repeater OZD Genius G12 ... can either
be mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail as per IEC 60715:
1981 + A1:1995 or directly on a flat surface.
The selected installation location must comply with
the climatic limits specified in the Technical Data.
Mounting on DIN rail
Insert the upper snap-in hooks of the repeater into the
DIN rail and press the underside (as shown in Fig. 6)
onto the rail until it engages.
To remove the repeater, disengage by pulling the
locking slide downwards.

Make sure that sufficient space is provided for
connecting the bus and power supply lines.
To facilitate installation of the fiber-optic cables,
connect them before mounting the repeaters.
If possible, the repeaters should only be installed on
a mounting plate or DIN rail with low-impedance and
low-inductance grounding.
Mounting on mounting plate
The repeater has three through-holes to permit mounting
to any flat surface, e.g. to the mounting plate of a switch
cabinet.
Make three holes in the mounting plate corresponding
the drilling template shown in Fig. 7.
Secure the repeaters using machine bolts (e.g.
M 3 x 40).
Ensure reliable electrical connection between the
repeater housing and the mounting plate.
Place toothed washers under the bolt heads to pierce
the varnish.
