6) The blade must be inserted into the mount as shown in
fig. 14 so that the flat part of the blade points towards
the front part of the planer and the end of the second
side of the blade (edge with the blade) must be at the
same level as the edge of the mount that is holding the
blade (fig. 14). Both blades in the mount must be level
at the same plane along their entire length with the
overlap of the blade according to the original settings,
otherwise the planer will vibrate excessively, which
will result in its damage and the planed surface will not
have a nice appearance and will be uneven.
7) After seating the planer blade in the mount, secure it
firmly by turning the screws in the opposite direction to
that shown in fig. 13.
REPLACING THE DRIVE BELT
y In the event that the drive belt requires replacement,
screw off the planer cover on the side as shown in fig.
15. The belt must be seated on the drive and driven
wheel so that it is properly seated in all the grooves of
both wheels of the planer.
REPLACING OF CARBON BRUSHES
y In the event that sparking is evident during the use of the
power tool or if it runs irregularly, have the wear condition
of the carbon brushes inspected at an authorised service
centre for the Extol ® brand (you will find a list of service
centres at the website in the user's manual or ask your
vendor). Do not inspect or replace the carbon brushes
yourself, since work on the electrical parts of the power
tool is required. To gain access to the carbon brushes, it is
necessary to remove the cover on the side of the planer as
shown in fig. 16. The carbon brushes need to be replaced
with original components from the manufacturer for the
given power tool model, ideally both at the same time.
y Keep the motor vents clean. Clogged vents prevent air
flow, which may result in damage to the power tool or
even a fire hazard resulting from insufficient cooling
by air flow.
y For cleaning, it is possible to use a brush or a textile or
compressed air if necessary.
y Regularly check that the dust exhaust (location where
the dust bag or external dust extraction is connected) is
not clogged. For cleaning, a brush or other mechanically
gentle tool may be used.
EN
y Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and organic
solvents for cleaning. This would result in damage to
the outer plastic housing of the device. Liquid must
be prevented from entering the electrical part of the
power tool.

XI. Storage
y Store the cleaned power tool in a safe location that
is out of reach of children where temperatures do
not exceed 45°. Protect the power tool against direct
sunlight, radiant heat sources, humidity and ingression
of water.
XII. Waste disposal
PACKAGING MATERIALS
y Throw packaging materials into a container for the
respective sorted waste.
y Do not dispose of unserviceable commodities in house-
hold waste, but dispose of them in an environmentally
safe manner. According to Directive (EU) 2012/19, elect-
rical appliances must not be thrown out with household
waste, but rather handed over for ecological disposal at
an electrical equipment collection point.
You can find information about electrical
equipment waste collection points and
collection conditions at your local town
council office.
