/ output 12 V / 50-60 Hz /18 W ) 13) 3 sprouting cover - to be used for seeding only.
They are stored in reservoir 10.
SETTING IT UP
1) Extend the arm by pulling lightly on the lamp. 2) Slot in the gauge.
3) Fill the water until the red gauge reaches the maximum (1.6 litres of water). Plug in
the device to start the pump. The water gauge will stabilize then drop; this is normal.
You will add more water later. 4) Unplug VILMA before moving on to your sowing. 5)
Place some clay beads (supplied) and vermiculit (1 cm thick, also supplied) in each
basket. 6) Sow a few seeds and reposition your baskets in the machine. Cover the
baskets with the sprouting covers. 7) Position the lamp from 5 to 10 cm away during
the sprouting phase. 8) Plug it back in and choose your programme using the tactile
switch. Irrigation and lighting will function automatically. 9) Check the water level and
fill it while the pump is in operation. 10) Add water when the gauge is too low. 11)
When the shoots are 2 to 3 cm, remove the covers and raise the level of the lamp. 12)
If necessary, remove duplicate shoots. If necessary, remove duplicate shoots. • Wit-
hout soil, after sprouting, your plants will need nutrients added to the water. Prepare
a new shot every 3-4 weeks. • When the plants are growing, keep the LEDs lit; they
have an ideal horticultural spectrum for proper plant growth.• You can use bedding
plants with VILMA, but it is absolutely necessary to respect the «no soil» rule! For this,
the substrate has to remain neutral; if you are replanting plants, you must fully wash the
roots to remove all the soil. Then position the roots in the basket and fill it with clay beads.
SWITCH - PROGRAMS
VILMA is controlled by the sensor switch located at the top
of the lamp. 3 programmes are available. To switch between them, keep your finger
on the switch for a few seconds; each programme has a different colour! BLUE light
programme: for hungry plants, the lighting duration is 14 hours every 24 hours. Wa-
tering frequency (integrated pump) is automatic. The light can be turned off by lightly
pressing the switch. VILMA will automatically turn itself on again after 30 minutes.
Similarly, at night when the light is off, Vilma can be turned on by lightly pressing the
switch, and it will turn off automatically after 30 minutes. GREEN light programme:
for plants that prefer shade, the lighting duration is 8 hours every 24 hours. Watering
frequency is automatic. The light can be turned off by lightly pressing the switch. VIL-
MA will automatically turn itself on again after 30 minutes. Similarly, at night when the
light is off, VILMA can be turned on. RED light programme: bedside lamp function.
If the humming of the pump is disturbing, it can be lit or the lamp can be turned on
by pressing the switch on and off briefly, while the pump remains off. Careful not to
stay on this programme for more than 48 hours, otherwise your plants may wither!
CONNECTED GARDEN
To make the connection, check your smartphone's set-
tings to ensure the NFC (Near Field Communication) menu exists, and then authorize
the connection. Bring your smartphone near or touch it to the NFC Tag on your gar-
den. Once the connection is established, the device will receive the data and display a
notification. Click accept to allow for information to be exchanged; the Vilmorin We-
bApp will appear automatically. In it, you will find all relevant information and advice
for setting up and taking care of your garden, at any time throughout the year!
NOTES
• To grow well, plants need sunlight. Our LEDs compensate for this lack, but
still, some plants need lots of sunlight; for such cases, position your VILMA close to a
window, in the sun. • Always make sure to provide enough light, water, air and nu-
trients. • Nutrients (or fertilizer) are available in stores. • VILMA's total consumption:
18 Watts / hour. • Anti-UV, ABS plastic material.
The pump is not working or the LEDs will not turn on: A) Check that the transformer is
properly plugged in to the outlet and VILMA. B) Check that the red light on the sensor
switch is not on. The water is not circulating: A) Check that the pump is not blocked.
B) That the discharge hose is not disconnected. My seeds are not sprouting: A) Note:
Nutrients should not be put in until the seeds have sprouted. B) Ambient temperature
must be at least 19°C in the room. The gauge level is moving: A) this is normal when
the pump starts. The level drops but then rises, when the pump is turned off. B) After
the main reservoir is filled, it is necessary to start the pump, wait for the gauge to stabi-
lise (it will drop), and fill the water level while the pump is in operation.
