7.3.4 Solar thermal function
As an alternative to using a 2nd heat generator, the domestic
hot water heat pump can be operated in combination with a
thermal solar installation. As soon as a sufficient solar yield is
detected, it is used for domestic hot water preparation and the
heat pump is blocked. The hystereses can be set in the menu.
The circulating pump is switched off again when a solar gain is
no longer available or when a temperature limit value is ex-
ceeded, either on the collector or in the cylinder. The solar ther-
mal function has priority over heat pump operation and the
electric heater.
ATTENTION!
The collector sensor must be a temperature sensor with the
resistance characteristic curve of a PT1000 (siehe Kap. 2.5.2
auf S. 5).
7.3.5 Photovoltaic function "SG ready"
For the photovoltaic function, the terminal X8 must be fed with
230 V 50 Hz. The evaluation unit (e.g. inverter checker) meas-
ures the output that is currently available. If the photovoltaic
input is active, the heat pump controls to the setpoint for the PV
mode. 1 kW can be used as a setting reference point for the
power threshold in the inverter checker of the photovoltaic
plants during PV operation without electric heater (700 W
power consumption heat pump plus base load of the house-
hold). If the device is to work permanently with the electric
heater in PV operation, a setting reference point of 2.5 kW is ad-
visable (2200 W power consumption heat pump incl. electric
heater, plus base load of the building). The solar thermal func-
tion has priority over the photovoltaic function. The display
shows that the heat pump is being operated using electricity
from the PV-system.

7.3.8 External block
The digital input terminal X7 is equipped with the link cable A2
as factory default. Operation of the domestic hot water heat
pump is blocked by opening the link cable. The frost protection
function remains active.

NOTE
The domestic hot water set temperature in photovoltaic mode
should be set to max. 55 °C to guarantee efficient operation of
the heat pump. With a domestic hot water set temperature
from 60 °C, operation takes place exclusively via the electric
heater.
7.3.6 Operation with PV optimizer /
building management system
The device is equipped with a RS485 interface (X20, RJ12, 6-
pin).
The interface is described at www.dimplex.de/wiki.
The PV optimiser can be connected for increased intrinsic con-
sumption of self-produced PV electricity. For details on installa-
tion and setting, see the PV optimiser manual.
Alternatively, the building management system (BMS) can be
connected and access the device data via Modbus RTU.
7.3.7 Ventilation
The volume flows for the individual fan settings are defined dur-
ing the calibration based on the ventilation planning.
If the fan output has to be adapted to the actual measured air
volume flows for the settings, i.e. to the system curve on site,
the Scale factor is used.
This influences the fan characteristic curve depending on the
pressure drops in the distribution system.
The higher the pressure drops in the system, the more fan out-
put is required and the smaller the required Scale factor.
Example:
Scale factor 30 means maximum fan output at 300 m3/h
target volume flow
Scale factor 20 means maximum fan output at just
200 m3/h target volume flow
