Thermostatic Mode
1. Turn the remote on by pressing the remote's power button,
if the remote activates in Manual (MAN) or Thermostatic
(AUTO) Mode, the unit will automatically start. If the remote
is not in Thermostatic Mode, press the mode button to switch
the remote's mode to Thermostatic. The remote display will
show "AUTO". See Figure 12.
2. When the remote is activated, the unit display panel will il-
luminate and show Heat level 1 along with the remote signal
symbol. The unit will begin the start up sequence automati-
cally.
3. Use the adjustment arrow button on the remote to set the
desired room temperature. See Figure 13.
NOTE: The temperature sensing probe is built into the remote.
Place the remote control in a good position to monitor the room's
average temperature. Avoid placing the remote too close to the
unit as this will affect the remote's temperature sensor.
NOTE: When the remote is in thermostatic mode, the unit will
automatically adjust the heat level to meet the heat demand
from the remote. The heat level will gradually increase until the
desired room temperature is reached, then the heat level will
gradually decrease until the unit shuts off.
If the unit experiences loss of power while the remote is operating
thermostatic mode, the remote will need to be manually reset
after power is restored for the unit to resume normal operation.
Turn the remote off then back on by pressing the power button
to reset the remote.

CAUTION
Temperature Units
You can choose to use either degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit as the
temperature units of measure.
1. Press and hold the power button until the screen backlight
turns off. See Figure 14.
2. Press and hold the Mode button for at least five seconds to
switch unit measure between degrees Celsius (°C) and de-
grees Fahrenheit (°F).
3. Press and hold the power button until the screen lights to turn
remote on.
Activating the Keypad Lock
The remote control keypad lock can prevent changes to settings
as the result of buttons being pressed inadvertently or children
playing with the remote control.
1. To activate the keypad lock, press and hold the Menu button,
the lock symbol will appear on the screen to confirm that
the keypad is locked. See Figure 15.
2. Repeat the procedure to deactivate the keypad lock
