3. Each light will flash four times then the unit will enter remote
mode standby. While in remote mode standby, the green LED
will flash slowly and the display panel will show a double dash
" - - ". See Figure 9.
NOTE: The remote control transmitter must be turned on and
active for the receiver to lock onto the signal.
4. The remote control receiver automatically searches for and
locks onto the remote control transmitter's signal when the
main power switch is turned on.
5. Reinstall the unit's front panel.
Starting the Unit - Remote
The remote control has two modes for controlling the unit's op-
eration - Manual and Thermostatic. In Manual mode, the remote
can turn the unit on and off and adjust the heat level manually. In
Thermostatic mode, the owner sets a desired room temperature
and the remote will automatically turn the unit on and off and
adjust the heat level to achieve the set temperature. To operate
the unit with the remote control, press the "Mode Select" button
on the unit display panel until a double dash " - - " is displayed.
NOTE: When the main power to the unit is turned on, as when
following a power outage or at initial setup, the unit will activate
in Remote Mode Standby by default.

Manual Mode
1. Turn the remote on by pressing the power button. When the
remote activates in either Manual (MAN) or Thermostatic
(AUTO) mode the unit will automatically start. If the remote
is not in Manual mode, press the remote's mode button to
switch the remote's mode to manual. The remote display will
show "MAN". See Figure 10.
2. When the remote is activated, the unit display panel will
illuminate and show the heat level set by the remote along
with the remote signal symbol. The unit will begin the start up
sequence automatically
3. Use the adjustment button on the remote to adjust the unit to
the desired heat level. See Figure 11.
