Ionstorm 3850 Bar and 3700 Controller
Installation and Maintenance Instructions
Ionstorm Static Eliminators offer market leading performance and reliability
provided they are correctly installed.
It is important that these instructions are read and understood before beginning
to install or operate this equipment.
System: How it works
The static elimination system consists of one or more static eliminator bar and a power unit
3700 Ionstorm Controller and 3850 Bar
Ionstorm emits positive and negative ions from dedicated emitters. One side of the Bar is positive,
the other side negative.
As the ions travel away from the Bar they are attracted to the static charge on the object. If the object
has a positive charge, for example, negative ions are sucked in to neutralise it. The higher the static
charge, the more ions are attracted. This is a powerful process and is effective at distances of up to
2m without any air assistance. In practice the best operating distances are between 250mm and 1m.
Checking on Delivered Equipment
The equipment leaves our factory in suitable protective packaging. Please check that it is
undamaged when it arrives. If there is visible damage contact the factory or one of our distributors
immediately, before carrying out any installation.
Check that the parts which have been delivered are the same as you have ordered.
Loose Parts:
The 3850 Bar should have: emitters, cable clips, mounting plates and nuts.
The 3700 Controller will have an IEC cable, two lock keys and mounting brackets with
screws and nuts.
The Connector Box (if applicable) should have mounting brackets, screws and nuts.
