2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE USING YOUR

MAXI

CAUTION!
1.
The MAXI is a "universal" child restraint.
It has been approved according to ECE R44/04
standards, and is suitable for use in most,
although not all, vehicle seats.
2.
Check the vehicle handbook provided by the
manufacturer. If this states that the model is
suitable for use with "universal" child restraints
for the correct age group, the seat can be safely
installed.
3.
This child restraint has undergone strict testing to
"universal" standards. These tests are more
demanding than those undergone by previous
models that did not feature this label.
4.
If in any doubt whatsoever, please contact the
child restraint manufacturer or the dealer.
CAUTION!
Only suitable for vehicles Þ tted with three-point/
retractor seatbelts, approved to ECE R16 or comparab-
le standards.
The MAXI child car seat has been tested and approved
according to the ECE R44/04 European standard for
child restraint systems.
NOTE!
"Universal" classiÞ cation only applies to the MAXI
when it is secured solely via the three-point seatbelt
(without attaching the connection arms to the vehicle's
ISOFIX points).
NOTE!
When the MAXI is secured via the three-point seatbelt
and the connection arms and ISOFIX points, it is
classiÞ ed as "semi-universal". This is only suitable for
certain seats in certain vehicles. The vehicle list
supplied provides an overview of all suitable vehicles
and seats at the time of going to print.
CAUTION!
Please note that ECE R44/04 certiÞ cation ceases to apply
if any changes are made to the MAXI without approval
from Joyson Safety Systems Aschaffenburg GmbH.
The certiÞ cation sticker, featuring a symbol (the letter E
in a circle) and certiÞ cation number, is found on the
bottom of the MAXI seat base [ECE].
