The model number is descriptive of the diameter of the
welding element rather than of the maximum component
diameter that can be welded using that model. The HSE

the heating surface is in a straight line from the handle.
All model versions are available with and without tempera-

temperature with those that have temperature control.

In the standard delivery, the tabletop stand is not included,

Operation

If a handheld welding element without temperature control
and temperature selector is used and a material other than
that for which it is (pre-) set is to be welded, the tempera-
Important
ture has to be changed first. The temperature set ex works is
that for polyethylene (PE). Only an authorized seller/service
partner is allowed to perform such a temperature setpoint
change.

Performing a Welded Joint

1. Install the welding element on the tabletop stand — supplied
optionally or not, depending on the product version that was
ordered — or another support not raising any safety concerns
and turn it on by plugging the power cord into a mains supply
outlet.
If the welding element were installed on an inappropriate
stand or simply laid down somewhere while it is hot, this
would expose the user and the assets around it to serious
fire hazards. Compliance with all safety messages quoted in
Caution
Sect. 2 is mandatory.
2. If the welding element used has a temperature control and selec-
tor, set the selector to the temperature required by the material
to be welded. The welding element — whether with or without
temperature selector — has reached the nominal temperature and
is ready for welding as soon as the green status lamp is on.
3. Using the handheld welding element, perform the butt-welding
operation observing all technical nominal values applicable
