Item no. 64 03 04 (type „RSLR2")
Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
The radio-controlled fl ush-mounted switch, in combination with a suitable radio-controlled remote
switch of the RSL system is used to wirelessly switch a connected consumer load on or off.
The radio-controlled fl ush-mounted switch is only suitable for operation on the mains voltage
(230 V/AC, 50 Hz). A maximum consumer load of 2000 W (Ohm resistive load) or 300 W (inductive
load) can be connected.
Any other use than that described above may damage the product. Moreover, this may give rise to
hazards such as short-circuiting, fi re, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modifi ed or
converted!
Always observe the safety instructions included in these operating instructions. Please read the op-
erating instructions carefully and store them.
This product complies with the applicable National and European requirements. All names of compa-
nies and products are the trademarks of the respective owners. All rights reserved.

Explanation of the Symbols
This symbol indicates a health hazard, e.g. electric shock.
The exclamation mark indicates specifi c risks associated with handling, function and
use.
The "Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Safety Instructions
Read the complete operating manual carefully before using the product, as it con-
tains important information about the correct installation and operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these
safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by im-
proper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the war-
ranty will be void!
Caution!
The product may only be installed by a qualifi ed technician (e.g. electrician) who
is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German electrical wiring regula-
tions)!
Improper work, carried out on the mains voltage, endangers not only your own life
but also the lives of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install it your-
self but ask a qualifi ed technician.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not allowed for safety
and approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product!
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children! There is the risk
of a fatal electric shock!
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the transmitters of
the RSL system emit only relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to malfunction
of life-support systems. The same may be the case in other areas.
• The product may only be operated on the mains voltage (see section "Installation and
Connection" and "Technical Data"). Never try to operate the product at another voltage
as this will cause its destruction.
• The installation may only be carried out, if all leads of the mains supplies of the wire-
less fl ush-mounted switch are disconnected from the mains voltage. Otherwise mortal
danger by an electric shock!
• The product must be installed and used in dry interiors only, it must not get damp or wet!
Never touch the product when your hands are wet or damp! There is a lethal danger of an
electric shock!
• Only use the product when it is fi rmly mounted and steady. Insert the product e. g. into
a suitable fl ush-mounted socket or surface box.
• Do not use this product in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions where combusti-
ble gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of explosion!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy
mechanical stress.

Preparations for Installation
• The wireless fl ush-mounted switch must be mounted and operated in a suitable fl ush-mounted
socket or surface box, or in another housing suitable for this purpose.
• Only use the wireless fl ush-mounted switch when it is fi rmly mounted.
• The wireless fl ush-mounted switch must be disconnected from the power supply during installation.
For this purpose, switch off the electrical mains supply by switching off at the corresponding circuit
breaker or removing the fuse. Secure it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign.
Furthermore, turn off the earth leakage circuit breaker in order to disconnect all poles of the mains
supply from mains voltage.
• Check that the mains connection is current free with a suitable tester.
Installation and Connection
• Connect the consumer load to the two middle screw terminals, see
picture on the right.
The connection "N" ist the neutral conductor, the connection "
is the connected output/phase/L.
• The outer two screw terminals are used for the connection to the
mains voltage ("N" = neutral conductor, "L" = phase).
• The wireless fl ush-mounted switch "RSLR2" (order no. 640304)
can be tightened using the lateral fastening eyes (hole distance of
the fastening eyes = 60 mm).
The wireless fl ush-mounted switch "RSLR3" (order no. 640303) is
directly inserted into a fl ush-mounted socket or surface box.
Pay attention that the push-button on the rear of the housing is
exposed during installation and not accidentally pushed.
• The push-button on the rear of the housing is used to "train" or tune the switch to the radio transmit-
ter of the RSL switching system.
Therefore, observe the following chapters before closing the fl ush mounted socket or surface box
and putting the product into operation.
Operation
a) Tuning the wireless fl ush-mounted switch to a radio transmitter
The radio fl ush-mounted switch can be programmed to any radio transmitter of the RSL system, e.g.
to a radio-controlled wall transmitter or a wireless remote control.
Proceed as follows:
• Press and hold the push-button on the wireless fl ush-mounted switch (longer than 3 seconds) until
the LED next to the push-button starts to blink. The programming mode will be activated for approx.
15 seconds and then exited automatically.
• When the programming mode is activated (LED next to the push-button fl ashes), press and hold
the "On" key of the radio-controlled wall transmitter ("I" key) or the corresponding "ON" key of a
wireless remote control (longer than 3 seconds) until the LED lights permanently and the connected
consumer load is turned on.
The tuning process has been completed successfully. The programming mode will be exited auto-
matically.
If you wish to tune the switch to another radio transmitter, the programming mode must be activated
fi rst. Please proceed as described above.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect the
product immediately and secure it against accidental operation. Neither touch the wire-
less fl ush-mounted switch nor any connected device.
Disconnect the wireless fl ush-mounted switch from the mains voltage by switching off
the corresponding circuit breaker or removing the fuse. Furthermore, turn off the earth
leakage circuit breaker in order to disconnect all the poles of the mains supply.
Let an expert check the product.
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not work at all or well (fl ickering light, leaking smoke or a smell of
burning, audible cracking noises, discolouration to the product or the adjacent sur-
faces.)
- the device was stored for a longer period of time in unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings
for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the employer's liability
insurance company for electrical systems and operating facilities are to be observed!
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please contact our
technical service or another specialist.
Please observe the chapter "Safety Instructions"!
Observe the chapter "Preparations for installation".
The switch can be tuned to a total of 10 different radio transmitters of the RSL system. Thus,
the wireless fl ush-mounted switch can e. g. be switched on or off from several locations.
