Menu Defrost

In the Defrosting menu, only for water-air HP or EXO versions, it is possible to edit
the settings for the defrosting procedure, occasionally required to prevent ice from
settling on the evaporation coils.
Defrosting start calculation algorithm:
1
- CLASSIC: defrosting is started up based on a drop in evaporation
pressure
- SMART: defrosting is started up based on the growing temperature
difference between the environment and the evaporation coils
Simultaneous defrosting of circuits:
2
- SEPARATE: each circuit is independent in performing defrosting stages
- SIMULTANEOUS: when one circuit requests defrosting, all circuits
perform defrosting
Minimum primary temperature threshold below which, in cooling mode,
3
defrosting is performed on DHW tank (if any) or on recovery (only EXP
versions)
Minimum primary temperature threshold below which, in heating mode,
4
defrosting is performed on DHW tank (if any) or on recovery (only EXP
versions)
Selection of the setting causing defrosting request (pressure or
1
temperature)
Pressure (or temperature) average algorithm:
2
- SAMPLES: the average is made of the readings in the mobile time
window
- MIN/MAX: the average is made of the readings between one higher peak
and one lower peak of the pressure wave trend, with maximum valuation
equal to the duration of the mobile time window
Duration of the time window for the pressure (or temperature) reading
3
average
Minimum pressure (or temperature) threshold below which the countdown
4
to defrosting starts
High pressure threshold that causes quitting the defrosting stage
5
Duration of the count of conditions for starting up defrosting
6
Maximum outdoor temperature threshold to perform defrosting count
1
Maximum evaporation temperature threshold to perform defrosting count

Duration of the time window for the average of sample conditions with clean

evaporation temperature to start up defrosting count
Re-modulation percentage of the count start threshold delta to be applied
2
for changes in outdoor temperature
Re-modulation percentage of the count start threshold delta to be applied
3
for changes in water temperature
Re-modulation percentage of the count start threshold delta to be applied
4
for changes in power on in the circuit
Minimum time interval between the end of one defrosting cycle and the
1
start of the next
Minimum duration of the defrosting stage
2
Maximum duration of the defrosting stage (if reached, defrosting ends
3
leaving a record in the alarms log)
In window Jg07 it is possible to set the execution time of defrosting stages (see
the graph below). During execution of defrosting, the minimum on and off times of
compressors are disregarded.
Interval between forced switching off of compressors and switching back on
1
for defrosting. The cycle inversion valve is operated half way through said
time.
Duration of the ventilation stage at the end of defrosting (if equal to 0 it is
2
not performed)
Behaviour of compressors during the ventilation stage (on or off)
3
Interval between forced switching off of the compressors at the end of
4
defrosting and switching back on for normal operation. The cycle inversion
valve is operated half way through said time.
Defrosting stages graph. Note double inversion of the VQ valve, actuation of compressors
(Comp) and fans (Fan). During ventilation the compressors may continue operation or be turned
off based on settings.
