SERVICE MODE

The water softener is in service mode when the timer is in the
'OFF' position; the drain paddle is closed, no water should be
flowing from the drain elbow.
MANUAL REGENERATION

To manually start a regeneration:
1. Turn the timer knob clockwise until you feel the
resistance of the drain paddle being opened; typically this
is at the '20' (minutes) position; water will start flowing to
the drain.
2. Turn the timer knob to the position that corresponds to
the recommended length of the regeneration cycle.
Recommended Length of Regeneration Cycle

9 ltr (.3 Cuft)
12 ltr (.4 Cuft)
18 ltr (.6 Cuft)
26 ltr (.9 Cuft)
3. Leave the timer in this position; while the control valve
performs the regeneration, the timer will count back and
automatically return to service position when the timer
knob has reached the 'OFF' position.
The control valve can be reset to service mode at any time by
turning the timer knob counter clockwise to the 'OFF' position.
REGENERATION FREQUENCY
The regeneration frequency depends on:
-
the exchange capacity of the water softener (= litres of
resin),
-
the water hardness,
-
the water usage.
We recommend a regeneration frequency of min. 1x
regeneration per week.
The regeneration frequency, i.e. the number of days in service
after which the water softener needs to be regenerated, must
be calculated, by dividing the nominal exchange capacity of
the water softener by:
1. the local water hardness,
2. the peak daily water usage.
