VICTORIA PLUS SILENT VS PUMP

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The main characteristic of the variable speed pump is the possibility to modify the working speed depending on the
usage needs.
As a general rule, the filtering process will be performed at low-speeds with the aim of taking advantage of its energy-
saving characteristics, low noise level and better filtering quality. In accordance with these features, a correct adjustment
of the filtration times would be required as the flow rate decreases when working at low speeds.
Most probably the accessories of the pool would require the use of the pump for the operation. These elements can be
very varied, and include cleaning systems, heat exchangers and chemical dosing systems. In most cases these devices
can work correctly with low speeds. If this is not the case, you can increase the speed to fulfil the equipment needs for
the correct operation.
In the event of performing chemical shock treatments or using cleaning products, it is suggested to use high speeds.
Filter backwash operations should always be performed at high speed.
With the above comments, you should set the timer programming considering not only the operating time but also the
operating speed.
FILTRATION TIME RECOMMENDATIONS WITH VARIBLE SPEED OPERATION
As a general rule, most of the operating time will be assigned to the medium speed but a part of the time will be spent
at high and low speeds. A good starting point would be to work 15% of the total time considered at high speed, a
55% at medium speed and a 30% at low speed. With the use of the variable speed, the total operating time shall be
increased proportionally to the flow rate reduction due to the operation with lower speeds.
For the case of low volume pools, it is recommended the use of the high speed for cleaning the filter and/or the water
surface cleaning, and low and medium speed for general filtration purposes.
Standard day setup example for a supposed installation (*):
FLOW RATE
SPEED
High (2750 RPM)
17 m
Medium (2100 RPM)
12 m
Low (1400 RPM)
8 m
High (2750 RPM)
17 m
Medium (2100 RPM)
12 m
Low (1400 RPM)
18 m
(*) The standard day setup shall be adjusted to the filtration requirements and to flow rate supplied by the pump according to the installation (depending on the pipe diameters,
installed valves, filters, reducers, nozzles, etc.) assuring that with the total time assigned to the different working speeds and their corresponding flow rates, the total water
volume of the pool is renewed at least once a day.
