5.2 DETERMINATION OF THE ROW DISTANCE

The main feature of the Magica seed drill is the changing of the
distance between the sowing rows.
Be very careful to carry out the entire operation by following
the instructions. All the operations described in this paragraph
must be carried out by expert personnel, equipped with pro-
tective gloves, in a clean and dust-free environment. Before
starting up the equipment, check the area surrounding the
machine to ensure that there are no people, especially children
or pets, nearby, and ensure that you have excellent visibility.
5.2.1 MAGICA 8 rows 45-50 cm
These operations should be carried out with the machine
closed.
To set the row spacing, proceed as follows:
1) Operate the hydraulic system to close the seeding elements
and then open the side toolbars.
2) Operate the hydraulic system to open the elements up to the
stop, determined by the position of the pins (A, Fig. 22).
3) Position the upper pins in the holes indicated (B, Fig. 22).
4) Close the seeding elements (C, Fig. 22).
5) To move the guides as indicated in Figure 22 (D1).
6) Position the upper pins in the holes corresponding to the row
spacing to be set (Fig. 18) (D, Fig. 22).
7) To mount slabs of fi ne inferior race (A, Fig. 19), in correspon-
dence of the relative references you to the row spacing set up.
8) Operate the hydraulic system to open the elements up to the
stop, determined by the position of the pins (E, Fig. 22).
9) To regulate the perpendicularity of the element of seeds (Fig.
19-20), recording the screw (B, Fig. 18) to block with nut (C).
10) To close and to reopen the elements of seed along the chas-
sis, in order to verify the correct order of the external seeding
elements.
The operations 2), 3), 4) and 5) are necessary only for the
version with transport width of 3,20 meters.
5.2.1 MAGICA 8 rows 60-70-75- 80* cm
These operations should be carried out with the machine
closed.
To set the row spacing, proceed as follows:
1) Operate the hydraulic system to close the seeding elements
and then open the side toolbars.
2) Move the lower knuckle pins into the guide holes corresponding
to the row spacing to be set (example in Fig. 21).
3) Position the upper pins in the holes corresponding to the row
spacing to be set (Fig. 18).
4) Operate the hydraulic system to open the elements up to the
stop, determined by the position of the pins.
(*) Only for version with transport width of 3,2 meters.
