1
Material Switch
!
Do not use AC output in damp areas, if
movement is confined, or if there is
danger of falling. Use AC output ONLY
if required for the welding process, and
then use a remote control.
!
Do not change position of switch while
welding or while under load.
Use switch to select DC for steel, stainless
steel, and chrome-moly, or AC for aluminum
applications.
2
Material Thickness/Amperage Control
Use control to select material thickness and
corresponding amperage.
When Material switch is in the DC position, use
the blue scale to select the appropriate materi-
al thickness and corresponding amperage
from the white scale. When Material switch is
in the AC position, use the gray scale to select
the appropriate material thickness and corre-
sponding amperage from the white scale. The
AC parameters have been optimized and auto-
matically set.
Preflow is preset at .2 seconds for DC or AC.
Postflow is preset for one second for every ten
amps of output, with a minimum of eight sec-
onds for DC or AC.
3
Power Switch
Use switch to turn unit On and Off.
4
Power On LED
Power is on when LED is lit. LED flashes when
input power is more than 10% of 230 volts. No
output available when LED is flashing.
5
Output Indicator LED
Output is On when LED is lit. LED flashes
when unit is overheated (see Section 3-5).
LED stops flashing when unit has cooled.
6
Remote Receptacle
7
Torch (See Section 10)
8
Work Clamp (See Section 10)
9
Remote Control
This is a dedicated remote control. Plug re-
mote control into remote receptacle (see Sec-
tion 4-2).
Depress pedal to start arc and increase am-
perage from 10 amps to maximum value set on
the machine's Material Thickness/Amperage
control. Release pedal to extinguish arc.
