Preparation tips:
• Steak meat should be removed from the refrigerator before preparation and should
have reached room temperature.
• Beef steaks should always (if the thickness of the meat allows it) be grilled on one of
the upper shelves and at maximum temperature. In this way the so-called "Maillard
reaction" is achieved in the shortest possible time. Here the amino acids contained
in the meat react with carbohydrates and protein components. This gives the meat
an ideal crust, while the inside remains wonderfully juicy. The "Maillard reaction"
should not be confused with "caramelisation", which is often mentioned in this
context. However, both reactions can also occur simultaneously.
• Please note that the grilling time is very short and, depending on the nature of the
meat, the steak can be ready after about 2 minutes per side.
Example grilling process for a beef rump steak
(approx. 350 g, approx. 2.5 cm thick)
1. Preheat the grill to 800 °C.
2. Insert the grill rack (1 1) with meat in the second uppermost rack level.
3. Grill the first side for about 2 minutes, the second side for about
1:50 minutes.
4. Remove the grill rack (1 1) with the meat and place it on the grease drip
tray (10). The post-cooking time depends on your personal preference
and the desired degree of cooking, usually about 2 to 4 minutes.
5. Now leave the meat to rest outside the grill for another 2 to 4 minutes.
Adjustment of temperature and time during the grilling process
1. Press the controller (2) during the grilling process. A signal tone sounds and "C"
flashes in the display (1). Adjust the temperature by turning the controller (2).
Confirm the selected temperature by pressing the controller (2).
2. Now ":" flashes in the display (3). Adjust the running time by turning the controller
(2). Confirm the selected running time by turning the controller (2).
3. A signal tone sounds and the grilling process continues with the adjusted settings.
Cooling phase / Switching off
NOTE: The heating can be switched off at any time by pressing and holding the
controller (2).
• During the cooling phase the fans (4) continue to run for some time until the
temperature falls below approx. 100 °C. Up to this point, the main switch (7) must
not yet be switched off.
• During the cooling phase the display (1) shows "hot". This indicates a high residual
temperature in the grilling chamber (12).
