Note: Fog machines will develop condensation around
the fog output nozzle . When selecting a mounting
place, take into account that moisture will accumulate
below the nozzle .

6 Connection for Remote Control

Connect the remote control provided to the jack
RE MOTE CONTROL ONLY (8) .
7 Connection and Address
Adjustment for DMX Control

7.1 Connection

For DMX signal transmission, special cables
are recommended (e . g . cables of the CDMXN
series) . For cable lengths exceeding 150 m or
when controlling more than 32 units via a sin-
gle DMX output, it is generally recommended
to insert a DMX level matching amplifier (e . g .
SR-103DMX) .
1) Connect the DMX input (9) to the DMX out-
put of the DMX controller .
2) Connect the DMX output (7) to the DMX
input of the following DMX-controlled unit .
Connect its output to the input of the fol-
lowing unit etc . until all DMX-controlled units
have been connected in a chain .
The jack OUT (7) has a latching . To remove
the plug, press the PUSH lever .
3) To prevent interference in signal transmission,
in case of long cables or a multitude of units
connected in series, terminate the DMX out-
put of the last DMX unit in the chain with a
120 Ω resistor (> 0 .3 W): Connect a corre-
sponding terminating plug (e . g . DLT-123) to
the DMX output jack .

7.2 Adjusting the DMX address

The fog machine uses one channel on the DMX
controller . To allow control of the fog machine, it
must be adjusted to the address provided for it
on the controller (e . g . address 1 if it is controlled
via channel 1 of the controller or address 7 if
it is controlled via channel 7 of the controller) .
The address is adjusted via the DIP switches
(10) as a binary number . The address is the sum
of the place values (marked "1 . . . 256") of the
DIP switches set to ON, e . g .:

The easiest way is to start from the highest pos-
sible place value and add the smaller values . This
sum will be the address .

8 Operation

WARNUNG
1 . The unit must be operated by
adults only; never leave it un-
attended .
2 . The fog output nozzle will become very hot .
Never touch it during operation or shortly
afterwards . Risk of burns!
3 . Never operate the fog machine without fog
fluid, otherwise there will be a fire hazard
due to overheating . Besides, the unit may
be damaged .
1) Connect the fog machine via the mains
cable (6) to a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz) .
2) Prior to switching on the fog machine, check
the fluid level of the tank and fill up fog fluid,
if required (
chapter 4) .
3) Switch on the unit with the POWER switch (3):
the switch will light up . The fog machine will
heat up for approx . 4 minutes . While the unit is
heating up, fog output will not be possible yet .
4) After heating up, fog output will be possible,
either via remote control or via DMX control
(
chapter 8 .1 or 8 .2) .
5) After operation, switch off the fog machine
with the POWER switch (3) .
Before transporting the unit, it must cool
down and the tank must be completely empty!
Note: Due to residual fluid in the fog machine, the
unit may still produce some fog after a fog output or
after switching off .
