4. Operation

4.1 Room air controls

● RB 170 standard unit: RB-ZF4
● RB 170 comfort unit: RB-ZF4
● RB 170 bypass unit: RB-D1-ZF4 (digital)

4.2 RB-ZF4 room air control

Off Ventilation unit off = LEDs off
The ventilation unit is in standby mode.
The Off function can be deactivated by
a specialist installer. In this case, the
ventilation unit can no longer be
switched off at the room air control.
I Ventilation for humidity protection:
Interval operation in ventilation
level 1
LED 1 flashes regularly at short
intervals. In interval operation, the
ventilation unit runs with fixed, defined
cycle times. The ventilation unit runs
for 17 minutes in ventilation level 1
(reduced ventilation) and switches off
for approx. 13 minutes before
repeating the cycle.
I Reduced ventilation: Continuous
operation in ventilation level 1
LED 1 lights up, the ventilation unit
runs in ventilation level 1.
II Nominal ventilation in ventilation
level 2
LED 2 lights up, the ventilation unit
runs in ventilation level 2.

III Intensive ventilation in ventilation
level 3
LED 3 lights up, the ventilation unit
runs in ventilation level 3 for around
1 hour. Then the ventilation unit
switches back to ventilation level 2.
Switching back can be deactivated
by a specialist installer.
The volumetric flows can be ad-
justed separately for each ventilation
level. This applies both for the
volumetric flows of exhaust air and
supply air. Your specialist installer
will be happy to undertake this
setting for you.

4.2.1 Switching on the ventilation unit

1. Move the main switch [6] to the "On"
position.
2. Press the ▲ button.
LED 1 flashes regularly at short intervals.
The fans in the ventilation unit start up. The
ventilation unit switches from standby mode
into interval operation (humidity protection
with fixed, defined cycle times; approx.
17 minutes on, approx. 13 minutes off).
4.2.2 Setting ventilation levels
1. Higher ventilation level:
Press the ▲ button as many times as
necessary for the required ventilation level
LED to light up.
Each time the button is pressed, the ventila-
tion unit switches up a level.
● Ventilation level 1/Interval operation
● Ventilation level 1/Continuous operation
(reduced ventilation)
● Ventilation level 2 (nominal ventilation)
● Ventilation level 3 (intensive ventilation)
2. Lower ventilation level:
Press the ▼ button as many times as
necessary for the required ventilation level
LED to light up.
