NB: These Installation and Operating Instructions should
be kept for the entire service life of the product.
Follow the installation instructions as illustrated in Figure 1.
Do not over-tighten the screws.

Safety precautions

The process of installing the product must be in compliance
with all local ordinances, including those that refer to national
and European standards. The fi replace must always be
installed in compliance with national laws and regulations.
Position
There must be a minimum distance of 1.5 m from the sides
of the fi replace to any combustible surfaces and materials.
The fi replace must be placed on a non-combustible
surface, such as bricks, concrete, rock or stone.
The fi replace must not be placed inside confi ned spaces,
tents, camper vans, caravans, boats or indoors.
The fi replace must not be placed beneath a roof overhang
or low branches on trees.
The fi replace should be placed on a fl at, solid, stable
surface. It might also be a good idea to check with
neighbours about the position of the fi replace to ensure
that smoke and smells do not cause a nuisance.
Using the fi replace
Never leave the fi replace unattended when it is lit. We
recommend you have a bucket of water close by.
The fi replace should ONLY be used with dry, untreated
logs/charcoal.
Warning! Never use petrol, paraffi n, methylated spirit or
similar liquids to light the fi re. You could injure yourself
and damage the product. We recommend using Jøtul
Firestarters to get the fi re going. Any other material may
damage the fi replace and shorten its service life.
The fi re bowl provided must be used. The fi replace must
not be fi lled with too much wood. Doing so causes it to
become hotter than it is designed for.
Never move or touch the fi replace when it is lit. After use,
let it cool for some time before touching it.
Make sure at all times that children and animals do not get
too close to the fi replace.
Let the logs burn out and the fi replace cool down.
Remove the remains of logs or charcoal, as logs can
spontaneously ignite after use. Clean the fi replace with a
rag/cloth.
Weather conditions:
Keep a careful eye on the fi replace in windy weather. The
fl ames could burn in an uncontrolled way. If conditions are
not ideal, we recommend waiting for the weather to improve
before lighting the fi replace.
After using the fi replace
We recommend storing the fi replace somewhere dry when not
being used.
Maintenance
The fi replace is made of Corten steel, which develops a "rough"
rusted surface after a short time. This rusty layer protects the
metal fi replace from the elements, which means it can be left
outdoors all year round. Corten steel is also used on building
façades to achieve a rusted look.
NB: Rust can run down onto the surface and cause stains
that are diffi cult to remove. The surface should therefore be
covered to protect it.
NB: The fi replace must not be surface treated.
Technical data:
Height: 146 cm
Width:
58 cm
Depth:
58 cm
Weight: 15 kg
Warranty
2 years from the date of purchase.
NB: The heat may cause the fi replace to marginally change
shape (straight surfaces may become slightly rounded). This
is a natural occurrence when the fi replace is used and does
not constitute a reason for any claim for compensation.
