Settings for Recording

Preparation on the recorder (this VCR)
Notes
• Before recording, set the clock on the VCR so that the recording time can
be written into the index signal. You can set the clock by setting the
CLOCK SET menu (see page 35).
• When controlling this unit from an editing controller or a personal
computer connected to REMOTE connector, set the REMOTE/LOCAL
switch to REMOTE. When not, set the switch to LOCAL.
• Editing is not possible with a tape that is copyright protected.

Power on the video monitor, then set the monitor's input switches
according to the input signals from this unit.

Set up the player to play back a tape.
For details, see "Preparation on the player" on the next page.

Power on this unit by pressing ON/STANDBY switch.

Use COUNTER SELECT switch to select the type of time data to be
used.

Select the formats of video and audio input signal to be recorded.
Press INPUT SELECT to select the desired signal formats. Each press
of this button cycles through three video signal selection options:
video, S-video, and DV input. Each selection is shown by a lit
indicator in the display window.
Note
Once you have started recording, you cannot change the input signal
selection (except during recording pause mode).
