The metal eye (a) is designed for attaching suitable
fall protection.
The tether used, including
carabiner, must have a
minimum breaking force
(MBF) of 15 kN (3300 lbs) and
may not be longer than 2 m
(6 ft).
The operating manual for the fall protection
must be observed.
Regularly check the machine (in particular the area
of the metal eye) and the fall protection used for any
damage.
Attach the tether and its carabiner to the metal eye
(a).
Fasten the other end of the tether outside the
working area so that the falling machine is held
securely. Do not fasten to the person or to movable
elements. There must be sufficient distance to the
working position. Attach the fall protection such that
the machine moves away from the operator if it falls.
Ensure that nobody is in the danger area.
The maximum possible fall height must not
exceed 2 m (6 ft).
After a fall, the machine must

5. Commissioning
Before using the tool, check to make sure that
the rated mains voltage and mains frequency,
as stated on the rating label, correspond to your
power supply.
Always install an RCD with a maximum trip
current of 30 mA upstream.
5.1 Attaching the additional handle
Always work with the additional handle (12)
attached! Attach the additional handle on the
left or right of the machine and secure.
5.2 Attach the safety guard
For safety reasons, always use the safety
guard provided for the respective wheel! See
also chapter 10. Accessories!
Safety guard for grinding
Designed for work with roughing wheels, flap
sanding pads, diamond cut-off wheels.
See illustration D on page 2.
- Push and hold the lever (17). Place the safety
guard (13) in the position indicated.
- Release the lever and turn the safety guard until
the lever engages.
- Push the lever and turn the safety guard until the
closed section is facing the operator.
- Make sure that the guard is placed securely: The
lever must engage and you should not be able to
turn the safety guard.
