3. Installation

the interplay between the racing shell and the
adapter is crucial to how the entire seat system
behaves.
„ mount the RECARO Pro Racer Ultima 1.0 and
RECARO Pro Racer Ultima Xl racing shells
only together with the independently tested
RECARO adapters 7217737.
Only this provides the necessary safety in
motor sports.
3.1. Positioning the racing shell in the vehicle
„ Select the most comfortable seat position for
yourself that is safest for driving the vehicle:
You must be able to completely hold the top
edge of the steering wheel without lifting yourself
out of the seat with your back.
Your knee must still be slightly angled when the
clutch or brake pedal is fully pressed.
„ make sure that the restraint systems and
the roll cage are correctly installed (see the
manufacturer's installation instructions).
3.2. Scope of delivery
„ Check the scope of delivery for completeness
before installation.
Racing shell (Figure A)
(1) Racing shell, 1 ea.
(2) Front seat cushion, 1 ea.
(3) Back seat cushion, 1 ea.
(4) Replaceable pads, 9 ea.
Adapter (Figure B)
Steel adapter 7217737
(5) Adapter, 2 ea.
(6) Washer, 13x20x2, 4 ea.
(7) Screw m12x25, 12.9, 4 ea.
3.3. Installation sequence
Refer to Page 3 for the associated dra-
wings.
Mounting adapters in the vehicle

the adapters must be secured in the vehicle
and the associated structural modifications to
the vehicle must be done in accordance with the
stipulations of the respective national motor sports
association or of the FIA and as per the applicab­
le version of the regulations that apply.
„ mount the adapters in the vehicle using at least
four m10 screws, strength class 10.9.
tightening torque: 35 Nm.
Fixing the racing shell (Figure C)
1. Position the racing shell between the adapters.
2. Fix the racing shell at the rear on the adapters
with the washer (6) and m12x25 screw (7).
When doing this, only tighten the screws hand­
tight.
3. Fix the racing shell at the front on the adapters
with the washer (6) and m12x25 screw (7).
When doing this, only tighten the screws hand­
tight.
Final mounting
„ tighten all 4 fastening screws m12x25 (7) with a
tightening torque of 22 Nm +2/–3 Nm.
DANgER
Danger of serious injury if the racing shell
becomes detached from its anchoring.
„ Use only the supplied micro­encapsulated
screws when installing the racing shell.
„ Use the supplied micro­encapsulated screws
only once.
„ Tighten all screws with the specified torque.
