  • Page 3 Do not put fingers or hands into any of the Instant Power’s™ outlets. Do not expose the Instant Power™ to rain or snow. Use only recommended attachments. Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by Schumacher® Electric Corporation may result in a risk of fire, electric shock or injury to persons or damage to property.
  • Page 4 To prevent sparking, NEVER allow clips to touch together or contact the same piece of metal. Consider having someone close enough by to come to your aid when you work near a lead-acid battery. Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid contacts your skin, clothing or eyes.
  • Page 5 Stay clear of fan blades, belts, pulleys and other parts that can cause injury. Check the polarity of the battery posts. The POSITIVE (POS, P, +) battery post usually has a larger diameter then the NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -) post. Determine which post of the battery is grounded (connected) to the chassis.
  • Page 6 • A yellow LeD indicates a 50 to 75% charge. The Instant Power™ may be used but should be recharged as soon as possible. • A green LeD indicates the internal battery is fully charged. • The CHARGING (red) LED indicates the Instant Power™ is charging (connected to an AC power source.) At full charge, the CHARGED (green) LED will light.
  • Page 7 10.3 Flex Light Light Bulb Replacement The bulb used in the IP-1850FL light is a 12 volt, 5 watt halogen bayonet type. Disconnect the Flex Light from the Instant Power™. To replace the bulb, unscrew the cover on the lamp back, remove the old bulb, then replace with a new 12 volt, 5 watt halogen bulb.
  • Page 8 12.3 Do not store the clips on the handle, clipped together, on or around metal, or clipped to cables. The clips on the Instant Power™ are live and will produce arcing or sparking if they come in contact with each other. To prevent accidental arcing, always keep the clips on the storage holders when not using it to jump start a vehicle.

  • Page 16 En un vehículo con descarga a tierra por borne negativo, conecte el gancho POSITIVO (ROjO) del Instant Power™ de batería al borne POSITIVO (POS, P, +) sin descarga a tierra de la batería. Conecte el gancho NEGATIVO (NEGRO) al chasis del vehículo o al bloque motor alejado de la batería.
