BASS (19 on the remote control)
To increase or decrease the bass output.
BASS ON = on, BASS OFF = off.
Infrared remote control
For operating the music centre from a distance of up to 5 metres
without a lead. If the range of the remote control is reduced, the
batteries have to be replaced. During operation ensure that there
is nothing blocking the direct line between the remote control
and the sensor (3) on the machine.
USB Connexion (7)
This device has been developed in accordance with the latest
technical developments in the USB fi eld. Unfortunately the large
number of different types of USB storage media on offer today
makes it impossible to guarantee full compatibility with all USB
storage media. For this reason there may be problems in rare
cases with playing back from USB storage media. This is not a
malfunction of the device.
1. In order to switch on the device please press the
POWER /„ " switch (4/12).
2. Now press the FUNCTION button (6/8) to select the CARD-
USB mode.
3. Connect a USB storage medium. After a few seconds
„USB", „STOP", „MP3" appears in the display and the total
number of tracks.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE (14/1) to play back the music data.

CDs/MP3s".
NOTE:
If an SD/MMC card is inserted it is preferentially selected,
depending on the USB storage medium. CARD appears
in the display. In this case remove the memory card.
If you have problems with operation using the USB
connexion, please use an appropriate adapter cable and
proceed as described under AUX.
CAUTION:
Before removing the USB storage medium, switch the device
to TUNER operation using the FUNCTION button (6/8).
SD/MMC-CARD Slot (9)
1. If you would like to play back data on an SD/MMC card
please insert it into the opening provided.
2. Now press the FUNCTION button (6/8) to select the CARD-
USB mode. After a few seconds „CARD", „STOP", „MP3"
appears in the display and the total number of tracks.
3. Press PLAY/PAUSE (14/1) to play back the music data.

NOTE:
If a USB storage medium is also inserted in the USB connec-
tion, or if CARD mode is not automatically selected, press the
STOP button (16/2).
AUX socket (24)
To connect analogue replay devices. Using this socket it is
possible to hear the sound of other playback devices such as
MP3 players, CD players etc. through the loudspeaker.
1. Please connect the external device with a 3.5 mm stereo
jack plug to the AUX socket (24).
2. Press the FUNCTION button (6/8) repeatedly until „AUX"
appears in the display.
3. Through the loudspeakers you will now hear the sound from
the external device. You can adjust the volume with the
VOLUME control (5).
4. For the remaining procedure please see the operating
instructions of the external sound source.
NOTE:
Adjust the volume of the external device to a comfortable level.
Listening to the Radio
1. Press the FUNCTION button (6/8) to select radio mode.
Press the BAND button (2/7) to select between FM and AM.
VHF = FM, Medium wave = MW (mono)
2. Tune in to the desired station with the help of the
SKIP+
/SKIP-
buttons (8/4).
3. The FM.ST control lamp ((ST)) (in the display) only lights up
if the selected station is being received in stereo quality. If
reception is too weak and there is noise on the station being
received, this lamp will fl icker. Try to improve reception by
turning and bending or twisting and altering the length of the
antenna (22). In the case of FM stations you can use the
INTRO/ST button (18) (FM/ST (11) on the remote control) to
switch between mono and stereo reception. If reception is
poor we recommend switching to mono.
4. For the reception of AM stations connect an AM antenna to
the AM ANT connections (23). If reception is too weak and
the station being received hisses, try to improve reception
by turning the AM antenna. In this frequency band programs
are transmitted in „mono" only.
5. If you have found the desired station, press the PROG
button (10/6). The word MEMORY lights up and the station
memory number fl ashes.
6. In order to select the program location, press the RAN/M- /
REPEAT/M+ /
I/I
buttons (17/15/3).
7. To store this position, press the PROG button (10/6). Please
note that the programme storage location must be entered
within fi ve seconds as the procedure is then cancelled.
To select a stored station press the RAN/M- / REPEAT/M+ /
buttons (17/15/3).

NOTE:
Station presets 0-9 can also be selected with the number
buttons (17) on the remote control.
