Descaling

• Regularly descale your espresso coffee cappuccino maker, depending on the frequency of use and the
quality of water used in the appliance.
• We recommend using a common descaler suitable for any type of coffee maker. Prepare the solution
according to the instructions on the packaging.
Coffee Maker:
1. Fill the cleaning solution into the water tank (13).
2. Operate the appliance as described in Brewing Coffee (without coffee grounds!). Let only one third of
the solution drip into the carafe. Turn the appliance off and let solution work for 15 minutes.
3. Return the solution from the carafe (12) into the water tank (13).
4. Switch the appliance on and let the entire solution drip into the carafe.
5. Then turn the unit off. Clean the filter basket (16).
6. Brew another 3 water tank fillings of clear water to rinse the system and eliminate any cleaning solution
residues.
Espresso Maker:
1. Fill the cleaning solution into the water tank (13).
2. Operate the appliance as described in Brewing Espresso (without coffee grounds!). Place a cup on the
drip plate (6).
3. As soon as the ESPRESSO button's (F) pilot light is off, press this button. Let the solution drip until the
appliance stops automatically (approx. 1-2 cups).
4. When the ESPRESSO button's pilot light is off again, hold an empty heat-resistant container under the
steam nozzle (5) and let steam escape for approx. 1 minute. Close the steam release knob (3). Switch
the appliance off by pressing
