Operating Instructions
3. Press
/
(E), to select the desired espresso setting:
Press once:
1 cup of espresso, pilot light is green.
Press twice:
2 cups of espresso, pilot light is red.
Press 3 times:
1 cup of espresso with coffee pod, pilot light is blue.
Press 4 times:
Espresso function is off.
4. Press ESPRESSO (F). The pump is on. The ESPRESSO pilot light flashes. When water drips from the
boiler outlet (17), the brewing system is filled with water.
5. Then press ESPRESSO (F) again to turn it off. When the appliance has reached its required tempera-
ture, the ESPRESSO pilot light goes off.
6. Put the espresso cups onto the cup warmer (2) to warm them.
7. Insert the respective filter (7, 8 or 9) into the filter holder (4).
8. Fill the filter with 1 or 2 measuring spoons of ground coffee and slightly tamp it with the tamper at the
lower end of the measuring spoon. However, make sure not to press too hard, as the espresso will then
drip very slowly.
Please note:
Tamping the coffee should rather serve to distribute the ground coffee evenly in the filter.
This machine is also designed for using standard coffee-pods, which need to be placed into the respec-
tive filter (9).
9. Insert the filter holder (4): Hold the filter holder in a horizontal position. The handle clip is flipped back
and lies flat on the handle. The handle points to the left (towards the carafe). Gently lift the filter hold-
er into the boiler outlet (17) and turn the handle to the right as far as possible. Check that the filter hold-
er is now locked in place.
Please note:
The filter holder must sit firmly in the boiler outlet to avoid that water leaks from the filter during brewing.
10. Place 1 or 2 cups under the filter holder. (When using coffee pods, 1 cup only.)
11. When the ESPRESSO pilot light (F) is off, press the ESPRESSO button.
