Before Initial Use

1. Clean the device as described in the "Cleaning and Care" chapter.
2. To remove any possible production residues, fi ll the kettle (5) up to the MAX marking
with drinking water before you fi rst use it and let it boil up (see chapter "Use"). Pour
away this water, do not drink it!
3. Repeat this process twice.
The kettle is now ready for operation!

Use

PLEASE NOTE!
Do not place the device below kitchen wall units or similar cupboards. The rising
steam could cause damage to them!
Do not operate the device without water or with less water than is required to reach
the Min marking. If this does happen, the device switches off automatically. In this
case, allow the device to cool down before cold water is poured in and the device is
switched on.
1. Wind up or unwind the connecting cable on the bottom of the base station (3) to the
length you want and then place it in the slot which is provided for it on the edge of
the base station.
2. Always set up the device with a clear space at the sides (at least 20 cm) and clear
space above it (at least 30 cm) on the kitchen worktop or another fl at, solid and
heat-resistant surface that is resistant to splashing.
3. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed socket that is easily accessible.
4. Pull the lid's (8) latch towards the handle (2) und simultaneously open the lid.
5. Fill the kettle (5) with at least 0.5 litres (MIN marking) and max. 1.7 litres (MAX mark-
ing) of water. Insuffi cient water will cause the device to switch off prematurely. If the
MAX marking (6) is exceeded, water could splash out during the boiling process.
