General

The Easysphere electric air-condi-
tioning system can be operated either
only when the engine is running or
when the ignition is switched on. Your
service centre will tell you which type
of installation your system has. The
system has a battery discharge pro-
tection system. If the electrical system
voltage falls below 20 V for longer
than 10 seconds or if the electric
motor suffers an overload (> 80 A/
sec), the system will cut out automati-
cally. It can be restarted by being swit-
ched on again.
The air conditioning system is ready
for operation only when filled with the
refrigerant and refrigerating oil
quantities specified in the installation
and servicing instructions manual.
Temperature control of the air condi-
tioning system not equipped with a
temperature controller is effected
by the system integral anti-icing
thermostat switching the compressor

off when reaching the evaporator
icing temperature. The condenser
and evaporator fan continue opera-
tion. After exceeding the switching
temperature of the anti-icing thermo-
stat the compressor is reactivated.
The temperature controller (option)
is used to set the desired cabin
inside temperature. When reaching
the set temperature the compressor is
switched off and the radial and axial
fans continue to operate. The cabin
inside temperature rises again
causing the compressor to be reacti-
vated after reaching the switching
temperature.
For rapid cooling and dehumidifica-
tion of the cabin interior at high
outside temperatures and in direct
sunlight, it is recommended to first
operate the fan at power stage 3.
After obtaining a comfortable cabin
inside temperature the fan power may
be decreased to stage 2 or 1 depen-
ding on the outside temperature.
If the vehicle has been heated up
extremely by exposure to sunlight, the
doors and windows should be first
opened for ventilation prior to swit-
ching the air conditioning on.
