HOW TO CONNECT AN EXTENSION FLASH
1
Place the flash on the mount, then plug the cord into the
camera's Flash synchronization socket.
2
Turn on the camera and set the Mode dial to "A". The LCD
monitor turns on automatically. (p. 68)
3
Turn on the extension flash and set it the calibration
mode. Adjust the ISO and the f-stop settings according to
the ones set with the camera. (Refer to the flash
instructions.)
4
Take a picture.
When an extension flash is used alone, the shutter speed
will extend down to 1/2 second.
When an extension flash is used along with the main flash,
shadows can be reduced by bouncing the extension flash
light off of the ceilings or walls.
Note:
The extension flash may fire accidentally,
depending on the circumstances.
The automatic exposure is calibrated for the
main flash only and may not work properly with
the extension flash.
With Exposure compensation, the amount of
light can be changed for the main flash only.
When shooting from a close distance, using the
extension flash is not recommended to avoid
over exposure.
The Slow shutter synchronization flash mode can
be used. (p. 116)
