Interfaces

6.1
Sin/Cos (1Vpp) analog interface
(BML SF2-_ _ _ _-A...)
This interface is described in the document
titled Interfaces for BML Magnetically Coded
Position Measuring System (see Tab. 10-2 on
page 30).
The interface document is an important
supplement to this guide and must be used.
Each of the outputs +A(+Sin)/–A(–Sin) and +B(+Cos)/–B(–Cos)
must have a load of 120 Ohm ±10%.

Value
The maximum movement speed in the BML system with
digital interface depends on the minimum edge separation
2
and the resolution of the sensor head (see Tab. 6-3).

A/B/Z (RS422) digital interface
(BML SF2-_ _ _ _-Q...)
This interface is described in the document
titled Interfaces for BML Magnetically Coded
Position Measuring System (see Tab. 10-2 on
page 30).
The interface document is an important
supplement to this guide and must be used.
Relationship between maximum movement
speed, resolution and edge separation
Important!
– The controller must be able to count the
minimum edge separations specified in
Tab. 6-3 and Tab. 6-4 (on page 20). Pay
attention to the counting frequency of the
controller.
– The minimum edge separation can even
occur at a standstill due to the internal
interpolation process.
– Always select the next-higher movement
speed or the next-largest minimum edge
separation. Position detection errors may
otherwise be generated by the controller
during evaluation.
Examples for coordination of the minimum edge
separation, resolution and movement speed are
described in the document titled Interfaces for
BML Magnetically Coded Position Measuring
System (see Tab. 10-2 on page 30).
