5. Operation

All functions of the urinal can be easily selected by moving the magnetic key to the
sensor eye on the right side of the control unit. When the magnetic key is detected for
the first time, the control unit starts an activation phase that lasts about 3 seconds
(indicated by brief signal tones in quick succession). Following this, the service and
flushing programs, system diagnosis and programming can be selected. If the magnetic
key is removed after a specific number of signal tones, a certain program is started or
parameters can be changed (refer to the illustration on p. 2 as well as sections 5.2, 5.3,
5.4 and 6.1).

5.1 Start-up

Leave the stickers over the sensor eyes until installation of the urinal has been com-
pleted.
The start-up mode is active for 5 minutes once start-up has been initiated. Detection of
an object is indicated audibly during the duration of this star-tup mode.
As soon as the stickers are removed, the control unit must be activated by detecting
an object. This is accomplished by holding your hand over the sensor eyes until a brief
signal tone confirms activation. Now move away from the detection area. Automatic
sensor calibration takes place within the next approx. 12 sec. (indicated by an audible
signal tone). During this time, there must be no individuals or objects within the detec-
tion range. At the end of calibration, a full flush occurs as confirmation. The urinal is
then operational.
