Connecting the inverter
7.1
Connecting the MSP 162 and MSP 164
The inverter is connected via a plug connected to a 12 V socket (for
MSP 162) or a 24 V supply (for MSP 164). The middle pin of the plug must
be connected to the positive wire (fig. 1 6, page 3) and the two side brack-
ets of the plug must be connected to the negative wire (fig. 1 7, page 3).
Caution
a
Make sure the plug is firmly connected in the socket. If the connec-
tion is loose, the plug may heat up.
Caution
a
The rating of the socket, the supply cable and the fuse must be at
least 15 amps. Do not put in a fuse with a higher rating.
7.2
Connecting the MSP 352 and MSP 354
Warning
e
Never use the inverter on vehicles where the positive terminal of
the battery is connected to the chassis.
When installed in vehicles or boats, the inverter must be connected to the
chassis or earth.
Only use copper cables.
Keep the cables as short as possible.
Fit a 50 A cable fuse as close to the battery as possible on the positive
cable.
Caution
a
If you do not fit a fuse in the positive cable, it could damage the
inverter and invalidate the guarantee.
➤ To set up the inverter, connect the red cable (fig. 1 4, page 3) to the pos-
itive pole (+) of the battery and the black cable (fig. 1 5, page 3) to the
negative pole (-) of the battery. Make sure the battery poles are clean
when connecting the terminals.
