Installation

• The pump must be kept completely clean.
No special maintenance is necessary during operation.
• If the pump has not be in service for an extended period, check to
ensure that
• The water circuit and the pump are filled
• No air has accumulated
• The pump shaft rotates smoothly.
The bearings are maintenance free for the life span of the motor.
The mechanical seal is maintenance-free. During the running-in
period, a minor amount of dripping is to be expected. Once in a while,
however, a visual inspection is required. If there is clearly detectable
leakage, the seal is to be changed.
CAUTION! Risk of property damage!
Danger of damage due to incorrect handling.
• When changing the mechanical seal, the entire pump must be
removed from the system BEFORE the motor is removed from the
pump housing.
Changing/dismantling the motor:
• Disconnect the system from the power and secure it against being
switched on.
• Close the shut-off devices in front of and behind the pump.
WARNING! Danger due to extremely hot or extremely cold pressu-
rised fluid!
Depending on the temperature of the fluid and system pressure,
when the venting screw is opened completely, extremely hot or
extremely cold fluid in liquid or vapour form may escape or shoot
out at high pressure.
• Disconnect the motor if the cable is too short.
• Remove the motor with impeller and shaft seal from the pump hous-
ing by undoing the flange screws (Item 5).
Installing the motor:
• Insert the (new) motor with impeller and shaft seal into the pump
housing and fasten using the flange screws (Item 5).
• If present (for 1~230 V pump models): Fasten the capacitor with a
bracket using a flange screw. Attention: Observe the direction of flow
(arrow on the pump housing).
• When doing this observe the tightening torques specified in the fol-
lowing table:

• Connect the motor.
• Open the valves in front of and behind the pump.
• Reset the fuse.
• Comply with the commissioning measures, see Section 8 "Commis-
