5.2. Storage/handling of care products

The care products must be stored safely away from the pool and out of the reach of children.
The brilliant properties of PVC, such as its ability to stretch, its recovery properties, UV and frost resistance,
as well as its resistance to the dissolved chemicals used in swimming pools, make PVC inner liners
indispensable for free-standing pools.
Despite this, please ensure that undissolved chlorine products (tablets or granulate) do not come into direct
contact with the liner, as this could result in the liner being damaged.

5.3. Safety information

All the information contained in these instructions must have been carefully read, understood and followed
before the swimming pool is built and used. While these warnings, instructions and safety guidelines certainly
point out some general risks relating to water-based leisure activities, they cannot deal with all the risks and
hazards in all cases. Caution, common sense and good judgement must always be exercised while in the
water. This information is kept for future use.
General safety information
-
It is prohibited to climb, cross over or sit on the wall of the swimming pool or the railing.
-
Jumping from the edge of the pool is also prohibited.
-
The general swimming rules must be observed.
-
Do not use any pointed or sharp objects in the pool.
-
The sun decks are for sunbathing only and are not for suitable for playing/mucking about on.
-
Do not hang from the shower.
Safety of non-swimmers
-
We recommend providing non-swimmers with personal flotation devices (e.g. life jackets, arm bands).
-
Weak swimmers and non-swimmers must be under the constant, active and vigilant supervision of a
competent adult at all times. (Please bear in mind that the risk of drowning is greatest among children
under the age of 5).
-
A knowledgeable adult who monitors the pool during use should be identified.
-
If the pool is not in use or being monitored, all the toys must be removed from it to prevent children from
being drawn to the pool.
Safety devices
-
We recommend building a barrier (and securing all doors and windows, if applicable) to prevent
unauthorised access to the pool.
-
While fences, pool covers, alarm systems or similar safety devices are useful tools, they do not replace
constant and expert monitoring by an adult.
Safety equipment
-
We recommend keeping rescue equipment (e.g. a life ring) near the pool.
-
A working phone and a list of emergency phone numbers are stored near the swimming pool.
Safe use of the swimming pool
-
All users should be encouraged to learn how to swim.
-
First-aid (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training and refresher courses should be attended on a regular
basis.
-
All pool users, including children, must be be given instruction regarding the emergency measures.
-
Never jump into shallow water. This can lead to serious injuries or death.
-
Do not use the pool while under the influence of alcohol or medication that could impair use.
-
If pool covers are used, they must be removed entirely prior to use.
-
Swimming pool users are protected from water-borne diseases by means of continuous water treatment.
-
Chemicals (e.g. products for water treatment, cleaning or disinfection) must be kept out of the reach of
children.
-
Removable ladders must be placed on horizontal surfaces and must not be removed during use.
-
The following signs are used.
These signs must be attached in a clearly visible location within 200 cm of the swimming pool.
