6. Install a new primary mower drive belt (C). Pull the
brake pad assembly (K) away from the stack pulley
(F). Put the belt around the stack pulley (F). Make sure
the primary mower drive belt (C) is inside of the belt
guide (E).
7. Pull the belt retainer (J) away from the idler pulley
(G). Put the flat side of the primary mower drive belt
(C) around the idler pulley (G).
8. Make sure the "V" side of the primary mower drive
belt (C) is against the mandrel pulleys (D) as shown.
9. Make sure the primary mower drive belt (C) is inside
all the belt guides (E).
10. Assemble the pulley cover (B).
11. Install the mower housing. See the instructions on
"How to Install the Mower Housing".
12. Before you mow, check the blade rotation control. See
the instructions on "How to Adjust the Blade Rotation
Control".
How to Replace the Secondary Mower Drive Belt
1. Remove the mower housing. See the instructions on
"How to Remove the Mower Housing".
2. Remove the screws (A) from the pulley cover (B).
Remove the pulley cover (B) (Figure 38).
3. Remove the primary mower drive belt (C) from the
stack pulley (F).
4. Pull the idler pulley (G) away from the secondary
mower drive belt (H). Remove the belt from the idler
pulley (G).
5. Remove the secondary mower drive belt (H) from the
right mandrel pulley (I).
6. Remove the secondary mower drive belt (H) from the
stack pulley (F).
NOTE: Replace the secondary mower drive belt with
an original equipment belt from an authorized service
center.
7. Install a new secondary mower drive belt (H). Put the
belt around the bottom of the stack pulley (F). Make
sure the secondary mower drive belt (H) is inside the
belt guide (E) next to the stack pulley (F).
8. Put the secondary mower drive belt (H) around the
right mandrel pulley (I).
9. Pull the idler pulley (G) toward the front. Install the flat
side of the secondary mower drive belt (H) against the
idler pulley (G).
10. Make sure the "V" side of the secondary mower drive
belt (H) is around the right mandrel pulley.
11. Put the primary mower drive belt (C) around the stack
pulley (F).
12. Assemble the pulley cover (B).
13. Install the mower housing. See the instructions on
"How to Install the Mower Housing".
14. Before you mow, check the blade rotation control. See
the instructions on "How to Adjust the Blade Rotation
Control".
How to Install the Wheels
If the wheels must be removed for service, make sure they
are installed as follows.
Front Wheel:
1. Make sure the valve stem (C) is to the outside of the
tractor. Slide the front wheel (D) on the spindle (E)
(see Figure 39).
2. Fasten the front wheel (D) with washer (F) and cotter
pin (A). Bend the ends of the cotter pin (A) apart to
keep the front wheel (D) on the spindle (E).
3. If your model has hub caps (B), install the hub caps
(B). Make sure the washers (F) hold the hub caps (B)
in place.
Rear Wheel:
1. Install the washers (D, G) and spacer (F) onto the axle
(J) as shown in Figure 40.
2. Mount the square key (H) in the key slot (I) (see
Figure 40).
3. Make sure the valve stem (E) is to the outside of
the tractor. Align the slot in the rear wheel (A) with
the square key (H). Slide the rear wheel (A) on the
axle (J).
4. Fasten the rear wheel (A) with washer (D, G) and
e-ring (C).
5. If your model has hub caps (B), install the hub caps
(B). Make sure the washers (D, G) hold the hub caps
(B) in place.
