❺ Troubleshooting
• The cleaner is designed specifically for 10 to 50 m³ aboveground pools.
• Pools must to be equipped with a self-priming filtration system ensuring a total system flow
rate of 5 to 7 m³/h, filter pump power over 0.5 hp (or 375 watts).
• If the pump is not powerful enough, the cleaner will not move; if the pump is too powerful
(greater than 0.5 HP or 375 watts with a flow rate exceeding 7m³/h), the cleaner's diaphragm
may become damaged and immobilise the cleaner.
• Check the diaphragm in your cleaner for damage. Damage can occur in two cases :
- Either your pump is too powerful (over 0.5 hp (or 375 watts) with a flow rate above 7
m³/h).
- Or the diaphragm has been damaged by a piece of debris or has become worn through
intensive use of the cleaner, in which case the diaphragm should be replaced. (see § «4.3
I Replacing the diaphragm»).
• Make sure the diaphragm in your cleaner is not clogged by debris:
- Disconnect the external exhaust hose and the cartridge from the body of the cleaner by
unscrewing the ring.
- Unscrew the external exhaust hose and push on the internal exhaust hose to reveal the
diaphragm.
- Remove any debris that has collected in the diaphragm or in the internal exhaust hose.
- Refit the internal exhaust hose in place and retighten the external exhaust hose.
• Check that the filtration system is working and that the valve is in the filtration position.
• Check that the prefilter basket and the filter are clean.
• Check for impurities in the pump turbine.
• Check that the suction hose is properly connected.
• Check that suction is not impeded by any debris.
• For optimum cleaning, filtration start-up time can be reduced.
For Example: 6 hours' filtration (3 x 2 hours) will give better pool coverage than a single
6-hour filtering operation, so it is advisable to stop filtration every 2 hours (for just 2 or 3
minutes) to enable your cleaner to take a new random direction.
• Check that the length of your hose right for the size of your pool (see § «2.2.1 I Determine
the number of sections you need»). If necessary, add or remove a section (or more).
• Check that the discharge nozzle(s) have been correctly faced downwards so as not to
hinder the cleaner's movements.
• Check that the hoses are not clogged.
• Check the hose sections for coils. If a memory has formed turn off the cleaner and remove
the affected hose sections. Lie any hose sections that have formed loops flat in the sun until
these sections recover their shape. Re-install the hose sections on the cleaner.
• Check that the first hose deflector is correctly positioned 2 metres from the cleaner (see
§ «2.2.1 I Determine the number of sections you need»), and place the second hose
deflector 3 to 4 metres from the skimmer, instead of the initial 2 metres.
• Check that the deflector wheel is properly in place (see § «2.1.1 I The deflector wheel»).
• if it is, but the cleaner remains stuck, remove the steps when cleaning the pool.
• Check that the system is fully sealed :
- between the cleaner and the hose,
- between all the hose sections,
- between the hose and the adapter,
- between the adapter and the skimmer,
- and between the skimmer and the filter.
