Operation

Switching on the scale
• Press the ON/OFF/TARA button.

appears briefly. When 0 g is displayed, the scale is ready for measuring.
The scale is delivered with the units set to "g".

Loading the scale and reading the weight
Weighing without a dish:
• Place the food directly on the scale plate.
Weighing with a dish:
• Place an empty dish on the scale plate.
• Press the ON/OFF/TARA button. The display shows 0 g again. Put the
food into the dish.
Note
If you have placed the dish onto the scale before switching it on, the weight is
already taken into account.
The display shows the weight of the food.
The weight is displayed in increments of 1 g (1/8 oz). For fluids, 100 g (3 1/2 oz)
correspond to about one decilitre.
If you remove the dish with its contents, the weight of the dish is displayed as a
negative value!
• Press the ON/OFF/TARA button. The display shows 0 g again.
Note
Overloading or improperly loading can impair the ability of your scale to func-
tion:
• Never place more than 5000 g (11 lb) on the scale plate. Otherwise "Err"
appears on the display.
• Do not place any objects or food on the display or the buttons.

Zeroing food (taring)
If you add other quantities of food, the new total weight is displayed.
You can also have the weight of the added amount displayed separately by set-
ting the scale to 0 g.
• Press the ON/OFF/TARA button before adding each new ingredient.

Switching off the scale
The scale automatically switches off 120 seconds after the last weight change.
• To switch it off manually, hold down the ON/OFF/TARA button for about
3 seconds.
• The display goes out.
