All panels have a check lamp for:
• Pre-heating
and a warning lamp for:
• Low oil pressure
• High coolant temperature
• High exhaust temperature
• Battery charging current
• Low oil pressure gearbox
(except model '10')
All panels have an audible alarm signal.
All panels can be used as first and only panel, or as a second panel.
N.B.: When the alarm goes off, the skipper should decide whether
Engine control panels
to stop the engine or reduce engine speed. A system which auto-
matically stops the engine when the alarm is triggered, is not rec-
ommended for propulsion engines. Dangerous situations could be
created under certain circumstances if the engine stops suddenly.
Panel location
Always install the panel in a position where the skipper can see it
easily.
The engine panel can be installed outside, but the waterproof cover
supplied (for the key lock) must be installed. This prevents water, salt
and dirt entering the lock when the key is removed. If a protective
housing is fitted over the whole panel, it is not necessary to install
the waterproof lock cover.
When the engine panel
is mounted low in the
cockpit, install it in such
a way (see drawing)
that the key cannot be
damaged, by feet, for
example.
Take care that the engine panel is waterproof only on the operating
side. The back of the panel should be installed in a well-protected
and ventilated space. Do not install the panel where serious vibra-
tion can occur.

Panel installation

The panel should be fitted in a bulkhead. Make a hole of the corre
right way between the engine panel and bulkhead.
Connections
Connect the universal engine wiring (2 or 3) to the engine's electrical
components. Consult the relevant diagram.
Then connect the engine panel to the engine wiring using the plug
and socket connector (2 or 3).
Instrument lighting
Engine panels with one or more
gauges have a connector in the
+ wire of the gauge lighting, see
drawing.
If required, a switch or a (direct
current) dimmer can be fitted in
this connection, so that you can
adjust the lighting as you require.
