TROUBLESHOOTING
WARNING. Risk of Unsafer Operation. Performing repairs may expose voltage sourc-
es, moving parts, or compressed air sources. Personal injury may occur. Before servic-
ing: Unplug or disconnect electrical supply to the air compressor, bleed tank of pressure,
and allow the air compressor to cool.
PROBLEM
Excessive tank pres-
sure - safety valve (3)
pops off.
Air leaks at fi ttings.
Air leaks at or inside
check valve (11).
Air leaks in air tank or
at air tank welds.
Air leaks between
head and valve plate.
Pressure reading on
the outlet pressure
gauge (4) drops when
an accessory is used.
Air leak from safety
valve (3).
Knocking Noise.
CAUSE
Pressure switch does
not shut off motor when
compressor reaches "cut-
out" pressure.
Pressure switch "cut-out"
too high.
Tube fi ttings are not tight
enough.
Check valve (11) seat dam-
aged.
Defective air tank.
Leaking seal.
Regulator (6) is not adjust-
ed correctly for accessory
being used
Possible defect in safety
valve (3).
Defective check valve (3).
CORRECTION
Set On/Off switch (1) to the OFF
position, if the unit does not shut off
contact a Trained Service Technician.
Contact a Trained Service Technician.
Tighten fi ttings where air can be
heard escaping. Check fi ttings
with soapy water solution. Do Not
Overtighten.
A defective check valve (11) results
in a constant air leak at the pressure
release valve when there is pressure
in the tank and the compressor is
shut off. Contact a Trained Service
Technician.
Air tank must be replaced. Do not
repair the leak.
WARNING. Risk of Bursting. Do
not drill into, weld or otherwise
modify air tank or it will weaken.
The tank can rupture or explode.
Contact a Trained Service Technician.
It is normal for some pressure drop
to occur when an accessory is used,
adjust the regulator (6) as instructed
in the Operation section if pressure
drop is excessive.
NOTE: Adjust the regulated pressure
under fl ow conditions while acces-
sory is being used.
Operate safety valve (3) manually by
pulling on ring. If valve still leaks,
contact a Trained Service Technician.
