Operating instructions SATAjet 3000 B RP (DIGITAL)
Exchange Manometer SATA adam:
Remove the air micrometer after losening the lateral fixing screw with hexa-
gonal key size 2. Mount the digital pressure gauge instead of the standard
air micrometer
Make sure that the air micrometer fixing screw (pos. 9) is mounted
properly in the gun and well tightened. Connect the paint spray gun to
the air supply, pull the trigger and adjust the requested spray pressure
by turning.
4.4 Correct adjustment of the dynamic inlet pressure
In all HVLP mandated areas within the USA for which SATAjet 3000 B RP/SATAjet 3000 B
RP DIGITAL are approved the inlet pressure to the spray guns is not allowed to exceed
2.5 bar/35 psi and it should be set and controlled by a SATA air pressure measuring
device according to paragraph a, b or c (see SATA website www.sata.com/usaapprovals).
a) SATAjet DIGITAL Guns:
Adjust the required pressure of 29 - 35 psi at the spray gun micrometer - it will
be indicated directly on the display while the gun trigger is pulled.
b) Spray gun with SATA adam (additional):
Adjust the required pressure of 29 - 35 psi by turning at the SATA adam
of the spray gun. The pressure can exactly be adjusted with a precision of
indication of +/- 0,05 bar (+/- 1 psi) and can be permanently controlled during
the paint application.
c) Spray gun with micrometer / gauge
Ensure sufficient pressure by means of the pressure regulator. Adjust the
recommended inlet pressure of 29 - 35 psi at the micrometer.
part. no. 27771
d) Spray gun equipped with compressed air control gauge
Adjust the pressure at the pressure regulator in a way that the spray gun
inlet pressure required for the respective gun model is obtained.
part. no. 4002
e) Spray gun without gauge
In order to make a correct adjustment of the spray gun inlet pressure, as
otherwise measureable in a) to c), without a gauge, adjust a pressure of
about 9 psi higher per 10 m to inlet pressure to compensate the pressure
drop in the hose.
4.5 Material fl ow control
Adjust material flow control
in accordance with spray viscosity and required flow rate (arrow 1 ) and fix
by means of the counter nut (arrow 2 ). Under normal circumstances, the
material flow control is fully open.
