Display information

Generate user text in display: Press any button. A data telegram is
sent to the Gateway. The Gateway's answer to the switch contains
an individual user text (e.g. running text or time stamp). For detailed
information, see RF RxT SW868/915/917/922-NET, »Description of
interface / Wireless receiver«, section »StateMessage-Response«,
paragraph »RECORD.TEXT1 to RECORD.TEXT4«, download from www.
steute.de.
Sleep mode: The display is permanently active by default. To increase
battery life, switch off the display. After every keystroke, the count-
down until display switch-off starts anew. The countdown time until
switch-off can be set from 0 to 18 hours. For detailed information, see
RF RxT SW868/915/917/922-NET, »Description of interface / Wireless
receiver«, section »StateMessage-Response«, paragraph » RECORD.
DISP_ON_TIME «, download from www.steute.de.
LED: After every keystroke per sending process, the LED blinks green.
In case of low battery voltage (<2.7V), the red LED glows. Meanwhile,
the display shows the text »Low battery«.
Design of wireless range
Because radio signals are electromagnetic waves, the signal is at-
tenuated on its way from the transmitter to the receiver. This means
that the electrical as well as the magnetic field strengths decrease, in
fact, inversely proportional to the squared distance of transmitter and
receiver (E,H~1/r²). In addition to this natural restriction of the wireless
range, further interference factors occur: Metal parts, e. g. armours
in walls, metal foils of thermal insulations or vapour deposited metal
layer heat protection glass, reflect electromagnetic waves. Therefore,
a so-called deadspot can be found behind them. Indeed, radio waves
are able to penetrate walls, but the attenuation increases even more
than in the free field.
Penetration of radio waves:
wood, gypsum, glass uncoated
brick stone, press boards
armoured concrete
metal, aluminium lamination, water
Typical wireless ranges are:
Sight connection in free field:
Sight connection indoors:
Sight connection in free field (SW922):
Sight connection indoors (SW922):
Notices
The transmission of one switching command from transmitter to
receiver lasts approx. 80 to 100 ms on basis of the sWave.NET r data
transmission (if the radio interface is unoccupied and there are no
repeat telegrams). The switching signal of a transmitter must not be
generated in shorter time sequences, otherwise this signal will be
suppressed. Subject to technical modifications. Reconstruction and
alterations at the switch are not allowed. Moreover, steute does not
assume any liability for recommendations made or implied by this
description. From this description new claims for guarantee, warranty
or liability cannot be derived beyond the general terms and conditions
of delivery.
Maintenance / Cleaning / Storage / Disposal
=
We recommend routine maintenance as follows:
1. Remove all dirt or particles.
2. Change batteries according to display text.
3. Check batteries for leakage.
For procedure, see paragraph »Batteries«.
Clean enclosure on the outside only. Clean enclosure with household
cleaning agents. Do not use compressed air to clean.
Avoid overlong storage of batteries.
- Observe national, local and legal regulations concerning disposal.
- Recycle each material separately. Dispose of possibly contained
batteries correctly.
