❐ Only connect the device to a properly installed socket. The socket must also be easily
accessible after the device has been connected. The mains voltage must correspond
to the technical data of the device. Only use proper extension cords, whose technical
data correspond to those of the device.
❐ Only use the enclosed thermostat plug to operate the device. Always fi rst connect the
thermostat plug to the device and then the mains plug to a properly installed socket.
❐ Ensure that the connected mains cord does not pose a tripping hazard. The cable
may not hang down from the set up area to prevent the device from being pulled
down. Never pull on the mains cord in order to move the device.
❐ Lay the cable so that it cannot be crushed, kinked or come into contact with hot sur-
faces, including those of the device.
❐ Do not subject the device to extreme temperatures, severe temperature fl uctuations,
direct sunlight or moisture.
❐ Do not allow the device to fall and do not subject it to strong percussions.
❐ Do not pull or carry the device by the mains cord.

Proper use

❐ Check the device for damages prior to each use. If the device, the cord or the plug ex-
hibit visible damages, the device may not be used. Do not use the device if it had a mal-
function or has fallen down. In this case have it checked by an authorised service point.
❐ Never attempt to repair an electrical device or connector cord yourself, rather locate
the nearest customer service centre/qualifi ed professional for your own safety. In the
event of damage, contact the customer service department.
❐ Do not leave the device unattended when in operation!
❐ Ensure that children and animals are not able to play with the device. If the device
is in use and children or animals are nearby, make sure that they do not touch the
device or the cord.
❐ ATTENTION Burn hazard! During operation, the device becomes very hot. Be ab-
solutely sure that you do not come into contact with the heated parts during and after
using the device. Only touch the handles and the control when the device is in oper-
ation or directly after deactivating it. Only transport and stow the device once it has
cooled off completely. Do not move the device when in use. If applicable, use kitchen
gloves or pot holders when handling the device.
❐ ATTENTION Burn hazard! Only use heat-resistant utensils for placing foods on or
removing them from the device. Keep metallic objects or other objects with sharp
edges away from the device. They could damage the grill plate's non-stick coating.
We recommend you use kitchen utensils made of wood or plastic.
❐ Never spray cold water on the hot grill plate while in use or directly after you have
used it. It could damage the non-stick coating!
❐ Fats and oils may catch fi re if overheated. Be careful when handling fats and oils.
Never pour water in hot fat or oil! Only extinguish grease fi res with suitable fi re extin-
guishers or smother the fl ames with a fi re-proof blanket!
❐ ATTENTION Burn hazard! Always let the device and the grease collection tray cool
off fi rst before you clean them!
