There may be some production residue stuck to the device. To rule out any risk to
health, clean the device thoroughly before using it for the fi rst time (see chapter
"Cleaning and storage"):
1. Clean the grill plate and the device with a damp cloth and dry them thoroughly
afterwards.
2. Connect the device as described in the chapter "Use".
3. Turn the temperature control to the highest setting and let the device heat up for
a few minutes WITHOUT food. The heat will eliminate any production residue on
the grill plate. When heating up the device, ensure proper ventilation as smoke
and odours may accumulate; this is not a malfunction and perfectly normal the
fi rst time you use the device.
4. Afterwards, let the device cool off completely, then wipe the grill plate off again
with a damp cloth and dry the device off thoroughly afterwards.
Your grill is now ready for use!

Use

ATTENTION!
❐ Fire hazard! The device is very hot during use and afterwards! When setting up the
device, make sure you choose an area with enough free space around the device so
as to prevent heat accumulations.
❐ Risk of injury! Be careful when placing food on the grill or when removing it to avoid
burns. Only use heat-resistant utensils for placing foods on or removing them from
the grill. Keep metallic objects or other objects with sharp edges away from the de-
vice. They could damage the grill plate's non-stick coating. We recommend you use
kitchen utensils made of wood or plastic.
❐ Risk of injury! The device gets hot when in use! Only take hold of the device by the
handles! We recommend using kitchen gloves or pot holders!
❐ Never leave the device unattended when operating in order to prevent damage to
property, the device itself and injury to persons, e.g. caused by fi re.
❐ Fats and oils may catch fi re if overheated. Be careful when handling fats and oils.
Never pour water in hot fat or oil! Only extinguish grease fi res with designated fi re
extinguishers or smother the fl ames with a fi re-proof blanket!
❐ At regular intervals, check the grease collection tray and empty it in time to prevent
it from overfl owing.
❐ Do not place food packed in cling fi lm or plastic bags on the device.
1. Place the device on a dry, heat-resistant, stable, level surface at a suffi cient distance
to fl ammable objects, spraying water and heat sources. Please ensure that the de-
vice is not accessible for children or animals.
2. If this has not already been done, insert the grease collection tray in the device.
3. Insert the thermostat plug in the jack on the device. Make sure that the thermostat
plug is properly connected. It must be fl ush with the connector jack.
