❐ There may still be some production residues on the appliance. To avoid harmful
effects to your health, clean the griddles thoroughly before using it for the fi rst time
(see chapter "Cleaning and Storage").
❐ During the fi rst use of the appliance, light smoke and smells may develop. This is not
unusual and does not impair the safety of the appliance.

Proper Setup and Connection

❐ The appliance should only be used in closed rooms.
❐ Always set up the appliance with enough clearance on all sides and on a dry, even,
stable, heat-resistant foundation.
❐ Maintain suffi cient clearance from other sources of heat such as hotplates or stoves
in order to avoid damage to the appliance.
❐ In order to avoid electric shocks, do not use the appliance near water or other liquids.
❐ The appliance should never be set up or used in the vicinity of easily fl ammable
materials (curtains, textiles etc.).
❐ Never operate the appliance on a hob or close to a gas source.
❐ The appliance should only be connected to a properly installed socket with earthing
contacts. The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains
voltage must correspond with the technical data of the appliance (see chapter
"Technical Data"). Only use suitable extension cables whose technical data is the
same as that of the appliance.
❐ Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected mains cable. Do
not allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may
become caught and pull the appliance down.
❐ Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does
not come into contact with hot surfaces.
❐ Do not expose the appliance to extreme temperatures, strong temperature
fl uctuations, direct sunlight or moisture.

Proper Use

❐ Always check the appliance for damage before putting it into operation. If the
appliance, lead or plug shows visible signs of damage, the appliance must not be
used. Do not use the appliance if it has malfunctioned or been dropped.
❐ If the appliance is broken, do not attempt to repair it yourself. In the event of damage
please contact the customer service department.
