the power cord, it must no longer be
used: even invisible damage may have
adverse effects on the operational safety
of the appliance.
∙ During operation, the coffee maker must
be placed on a level, non-slip surface,
impervious to splashes and stains.
∙ Do not allow the appliance or its power
cord to touch hot surfaces or to come
into contact with any heat sources.
∙ Warning! Before opening up
the coffee machine or removing
accessories, the appliance must first
be switched off and allowed to cool
thoroughly. Otherwise, hot water or
steam may escape.
∙ Do not leave the appliance without
supervision while it is connected to the
mains.
∙ Always remove the plug from the wall
socket
- in case of any malfunction,
- after use, and also
- before cleaning the appliance.
∙ When removing the plug from the wall
socket, never pull on the power cord;
always grip the plug itself.
∙ Do not allow the power cord to hang
free; the cord must be kept well away
from hot parts of the appliance.
∙ No responsibility will be accepted if
damage results from improper use, or if
these instructions are not complied with.
Automatic switch-off

the hot-plate) will switch itself off
automatically about 35 minutes after the
brewing cycle is complete.

Before using for the first time
∙ Remove all remaining packaging
material and any promotional stickers
from the appliance. Never remove the
identification label.
∙ Clean the appliance as described in the
Cleaning and Care section.
∙ Before making coffee for the first time,
let the appliance go through two or
three filtration cycles using the indicated
maximum amount of cold water, but
without using ground coffee. This should
also be done if the appliance has not
been used for an extended period of
time, and after descaling.
General information
∙ There is a water level indicator on the
water reservoir and on the jug, to help
with measuring the amount of fresh
water. The water level indicator is based
on normal-sized cups, holding a volume
of about 125 ml. Do not fill higher than
the specified maximum number of cups.
∙ If several consecutive brewing cycles
are required, switch off the coffee maker
after each cycle and let the appliance
cool down for approx. 5 minutes.
∙ Important: When filling with fresh
water shortly after the brewing process,
hot steam may escape from the water
outlet (risk of scalding). It is therefore
important to let the appliance cool down
before you add fresh water.
